@ianferguson7 @JordanByers1997 They struggle to play on bigger ice because the don’t practice on bigger ice… initially would be a hit to home advantage but would eventually level things out… The AO arena ice was actually smaller than motorpoint and closer to the NHL sizes

@JordanByers1997 Manchester can't play on bigger ice though, at least that was their excuse for losing 6-0 to devils.

@JordanByers1997 Would be a great, bigger and better arena and we would finally have neutral ice for the POFW 😅🤣

There are very few photos on the Internet of hockey at the original MEN arena. It would be good to go back.

@davidchannon @rsuyoy I think that’s the next logical step once they’re familiar… but still yours on your network via Tailscale… There’s a lot to be said for consistent model performance and owning that… also ensuring your data stays private is huge

@rsuyoy Can you explain why you want that? Why would you want something that runs local? Even if you want something "yours" why would you want to run it local and not more centrally? Why tie yourself to a single device that can't be instantly upgraded, reconfigured etc?

What's a reasonable timeline for a GPT 5.4/Opus 4.6 level LLM that runs locally on a good Macbook 10 years? much less? much more?

@rsuyoy Much less… way to go would probably be to pick up a beefy Mac mini or studio in a year or so and use with Tailscale to create your own LLM server

Didn’t take long for @AnthropicAI to nerf 4.7… already turned to lazy mode despite max effort being forced… “Oh I’m sorry I missed that, I’ve only been reading the first 100 lines of files”

@joemichalczuk If you were there for 10 hours with her “bleeding out” and then went home doesn’t sound like she required an emergency ambulance for a start.

A shower screen shattered all over my wife this week. Over the next 72 hours, the NHS got almost everything wrong. A cautionary tale of a system that is broken (with the usual caveat that everyone working in it is doing their best) 👇 I called an ambulance. All good at first: “It’s on its way.” Ten minutes later: “Actually, there are no ambulances for hours - can you get her to hospital?” So I loaded my bleeding wife into the car, along with the kids and the dog, and drove to A&E. Ten hours later, she came home - having given up after not even being offered a plaster. The next morning, we called our GP: “Any chance she could see a nurse?” “No - as the ambulance referred her to hospital, we can’t see her.” So I went to the pharmacy and bought a first aid kit. Because apparently that’s where we are now - me and a pack of plasters, in one of the richest countries in the world. This morning, still in pain, still untreated, and with a ballooning foot, we went to an urgent treatment centre. At first, smooth. She was seen in under two hours. X-ray done. “Nasty cut, but nothing broken.” Relief. Two hours later, the phone rang. It was the hospital. “Sorry - we got that completely wrong. Your foot is broken and the wound needs antibiotics.” If it wasn’t so serious, it would be laughable. And the truth is - anyone who uses the system has a story like this. We need to stop clinging to an idealised version of the NHS and have a grown-up conversation about how to fix it. Free healthcare for all should remain a principle - but pretending the current model works isn’t helping anyone. Almost every other developed country combines public healthcare with some level of private provision - and all deliver better outcomes as a result. Yet in the UK, even suggesting that tends to get shut down before the conversation starts. That’s not protecting the NHS. It’s protecting a cult. We don’t need ideology. We need honesty about what works. We need a brilliant NHS in practice for all of us - not one we’re told to revere while it quietly crumbles, and where anyone who speaks up is dismissed or discredited. When are we going to get serious about the things that actually matter - and have the difficult national conversations needed to fix them? We don’t need to abandon the NHS. We need to be honest about fixing it. We shouldn’t just shrug our shoulders. We have to be better. We need to vote for real change.

Senior developers are currently having a massive existential crisis because Claude writes "messy code" A junior just used Claude to ship an entire feature in 2 hours. Meanwhile, the Senior is still spending 3 days reviewing code. When will y'all realize that literally nobody cares if the code is "messy"?

@HackingDave Lmao this is not a Claude issue it’s a dev issue. You’re not having skilled engineers use Claude and verify its output are you?

For the enterprises using Claude, if you are using it for heavy enterprise type stuff - be extremely careful. It's introducing massive bugs, security issues, and code quality is way worse than Opus 4.5, substantially worse on both 4.6 and 4.7. Our entire development team is shifting off of it. It's unusable at the moment aside from beautiful UI stuff, it's code quality is not something you can trust. Still no word from Claude on why they mangled their models and didn't tell anyone - which is particularly alarming on every front. I would recommend switching teams over to something like Cursor, Perplexity, or AWS Bedrock - as the frontier models continue to innovate (or regress) - having the ability for flexible model selection that doesn't disrupt development workflow will be insanely important for enterprise.

Oh hell no. I just learned this is saying I have to wait ONE WEEK to use claude design again??? @AnthropicAI that's totally insane - this makes no sense at all. I use @Lovable alll the time everyday for the same price. The designs clause made weren't even that interesting.
Marc Hemeon@hemeon

Well this is an absloltely terrible experience. I tried Claude Design for about 20 mins and hit this limit and now Im totally unmotivated. No explanation when I hit upgrade what I can get, how many designs etc. very very unclear.

@isamutlib @hemeon @AnthropicAI @Lovable Yeah asked Claude code if you can do this and it said “yeah, we’re basically the same tool and have access to the same models, so drop it in here and ask me… it might be a bit more of a clunky experience as Design is just a nice harness wrapper”
