This is completely deranged rhetoric. If you heard this kind of ranting from a family member who possessed no power at all, you'd be worried about them. From the president, it's horrifying. This is obvious 25th Amendment territory, but people are so desensitized that they can't see it.

President Donald J. Trump posted to Truth Social just minutes ago, stating, "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again." I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will."

Colorado's new 10-Year Plan is out for public review. Public/stakeholder engagement effort led to this funding strategy to meet CDOT's key goals: Fix our Roads, Advance Transportation Safety, & Sustainably Increase Transportation Choice. Weigh in by 2/9. mailchi.mp/state

Colorado is 1st in sales of BEVs (blue dots) and PHEVs (orange) combined, at 32.4%. Are we at an inflection point that survives the end of federal subsidies? Charging infrastructure has kept up, too: 84% of our 9K road miles have fast charging capability w/in 30 miles.

@BuildUpDenver I was there in the 1980s, in the dead of winter, and was stunned at the numbers on bikes. It was lively and lovely!

Today is a thrilling day for Colorado! Denver, Colorado, is the heart of Broncos Country, and today we are one step closer to ensuring that it remains that way. It’s been an honor to partner with the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group throughout this process to seize an amazing opportunity to unlock new, unprecedented private investment in our beloved football team and our capital city. The Broncos are as core to the fabric of our state as their future site at Burnham Yard is to how our state was founded and thrived over 150 years ago. That’s why when Greg and Carrie Penner met with me in 2022 to discuss their desire to explore a beautiful new stadium home, I jumped at the opportunity to show them Burnham Yard, an amazing place that few knew much about. We are so lucky to have an ownership group that is as committed to the success of the Broncos as they are to the success of our state, and a willingness to preserve our rich history while also investing in Denver’s future. They immediately saw the vision and dreams I saw in the future of a redeveloped Burnham Yard, and that the storied leaders of our past saw in this special place as well. When the Union Pacific Railroad shut down operations at Burnham Yard and sought a buyer, we pushed to purchase it for the state and got it done. This purchase gave the state the opportunity to showcase a ground-up transit-oriented development at one of our most special historic places in Colorado- one of the last undeveloped parcels in the city. Burnham Yard gives an opportunity to demonstrate a vision for a smarter way to grow for the next 150 years. To grow, evolve with transportation choices of transit and passenger rail as guiding design principles, and to bring back to life the incredible diesel locomotive shop that stands over 3 stories tall, made from brick and windows, a towering historic building over twice the size of Denver Union Station at 148,000 square feet. I never imagined the incredible opportunity that lay in store, to be able to partner with the Denver Broncos and the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group to realize this vision as the future home of the Denver Broncos. Burnham Yard, since its inception, has been a demonstration of audacious visions and bold innovation that put our beloved capital city on the map over 150 years ago. That’s why development of Burnham Yard represents more than just a new NFL stadium, more than just an urban renewal opportunity; it's a chance to demonstrate Colorado's commitment to excellence, leading the nation in visionary, responsible growth that celebrates our heritage while embracing tomorrow's possibilities. Burnham Yard’s story begins with territorial Governor Alexander Hunt, appointed to be Governor by President Andrew Jackson and General William Jackson Palmer, the storied Civil War veteran who incorporated the Denver & Rio Grande Railway in 1870. Palmer envisioned something unprecedented: a narrow-gauge railway system connecting Denver with Mexico City. Palmer, who had begun working with railroads as a teenager, understood that railroads were more than transportation—they were community builders. But the true heroes of Burnham Yard were the thousands of workers who made it come to life for nearly 150 years. In its heyday, the operation could build train cars from the ground up, employing foundry workers, blacksmiths, machinists, and upholsterers. The surrounding neighborhoods became home to waves of immigrants—Europeans, Russians, and Mexicans fleeing the revolution of 1910—all drawn by steady railroad work. Standing on the shoulders of these Coloradans is why Burnham Yard isn't just property—it's hallowed ground that tells the story of who we are as Coloradans, built by visionaries, dreamers, and countless working families who made Colorado their home. I can’t think of a better home for our Denver Broncos than a modern stadium at this site that will improve the fan experience, and help move Coloradans across the city and state – by rail no less! I want to thank the leadership at the Colorado Transportation Department, the Colorado Transportation Innovation and Investment Office, the Public Private Partnership Office, the city of Denver, Union Pacific Railroad, and History Colorado for all their work to date. Burnham Yard tells multiple stories: from our founding civic leaders, workers who built our city, innovations, connectivity, and grit. And now it will tell the story of a new era of the Denver @Broncos, and I am confident of many, many thrilling wins and year-round entertainment, including future Super Bowls. I cannot think of a better home for our beloved Denver Broncos, or a better use for a truly historic Denver property.

@GreatDenTransit @mattwatkajtys Without wading in on this, a question: The goal for commuter rail is as amended to be 96%. If the A Line is in the high 90s, what other lines are underperforming and to what extent?

@mattwatkajtys Amongst other things, I worked on the A Line construction & testing for 5 1/2 years. 8 years later the line is still performing with reliability & on-time performance on the high 90%s. So yes, I’d say so. (Richard)

Just had a quick breakfast at the new Dozens on 14th St. If you have been waiting to go there after their Golden Triangle fire, wait no longer! It’s just as good/affordable/friendly as it ever was and the new location is super charming; I’ll be back soon!

@MattFrommer Stubborn indeed. I learned from my transportation non-profit's small quest that options are great, but you also need to do them in a way (and w/ the ability to persist) that leads to meaningful adoption. Service particulars, reliability, and adverse events all helped in our case.

GHG emissions in the US were flat in 2024 compared to 2023. Transportation is very stubborn and also the most polluting sector of the economy. We need to do more to electrify vehicles and expand transportation options to reduce driving.

My inbox is full right now after we aired a story this week about a parking enforcement company called PRRS. It started with a tip from a Denver attorney about a problem at a parking lot in LoHi. Pretty quickly we found quite a few people who had the same problem... 🧵

Deer in Distress: Tangled Tale Ends in Rescue Colorado Parks and Wildlife and our JCSO deputies teamed up for a wild rescue mission! A curious deer got itself tangled in a backyard hammock in the Applewood community, and it was up to this amazing team to set it free. While the CPW Officer bravely held the deer steady, our deputies used knives to quickly cut through the hammock ropes and free this distressed visitor. The deer didn’t completely understand we were there to help but was grateful to be set free. This is a great reminder to secure or store outdoor items like hammocks and sporting nets when not in use, to help protect our wildlife neighbors. Helping our neighbors in distress. It’s what we do. #WildlifeRescue #Teamwork #LivingWithWildlife #JCSO @CPW_NE @COParksWildlife
