Anna has taken issues like this with the utmost care and seriousness in the past so I have a lot of faith in her & the team to make this right and implement meaningful changes.
However this isn’t just about what Riot can do but also us as a community. The sheer amount of victim blaming takes I’ve seen is extremely disappointing.
“The mute button is right there” yes we all know that but how about we stop harassing and threatening others or start condemning those that do.
I’m sick and tired of seeing women and girls giving up something they love and made to feel like they’re overreacting when they’re not. Plenty of people across multiple disciplines in our scene have highlighted how online harassment and toxicity CAN lead to decline in mental health. It literally costs nothing to be supportive and kind.
Yes there needs to be harsher penalties, more serious punishments but we also need to do better as a community it’s also on us.

I'm sorry for not posting sooner, but please know I haven't missed a word. This has been the top thing on my mind (a lot of our minds) since yesterday.
