Ren☁️🪼DEBUT APRIL 30th
My First Con Experience as a Lewdtuber First off, I want to thank all the Oshi Lounge staff and all the amazing vtubers I got to meet. They all made me feel so welcome even though it was our first time meeting in person. Meeting people I've talked to for years for the first time was nerve wracking, but they were all so nice and it only took moments for me to feel the same comfort I do from them online. The Oshi Lounge staff provided a ton of help and always had someone watching over the meet and greets to help us feel safe. However, every day of the con I felt less and less safe. As a lewdtuber, I know that some fans are always going to be a little aggressive or excited to meet us, and some may even be unsafe to meet. Since I and some of the other lewdtubers were doing IRL meet and greets, they knew what we looked like in person. There was no way to reach the destination of our obligated meet and greets without going through the public corridors of the con, being stopped by fans for pictures, hugs, autographs, or just because they wanted to tell us how much they enjoyed our adult content. The girls and I are extremely honored and happy to have so many fans, and we're glad you enjoy the content, but we're not excited to be ran up to when we're trying to get to an obligation with no security and exposed and told how much you came to our moans while we were bouncing on a dildo. It felt incredibly unsafe moving in public and there were multiple times where fans tried to follow me through the con and to my room. By the end of the second night, I was truly scared to be in public, and I heard from other lewdtubers that they were having similar or worse experiences. Security seemed very lax in general outside of the meet and greets and with no safe way to get them, I tried to always find a safe group to walk with to get to the safe zones. To the fans, most of you were lovely and not pushy at all. I don't want this to come off as ungrateful or unappreciative in any way. We all know what happened to Christina Grimmie, or Meg Turney/Gavin Free, or the incidents at Twitchcon last year. We have to take our safety seriously, because it only takes one obsessed and dangerous fan to end our lives and almost every single one of us has experienced some type of minor physical assault from a fan before. I had a few very scary moments this con myself, and I want to seriously thank all the lewdtubers that protected and provided for me in those moments and did everything they could to keep me safe. They were so kind, understanding, and they made me laugh and feel safer even in the minutes I was near total PTSD shutdown. You all are goated and I wouldn't have gotten through it without you. I ended up not attending the con at all on Sunday and just hung out with my friends and felt so much better by the end of it. I really hope in the future there are some lessons learned from this experience. I'd like to see alternate entrances at cons for industry people only, additional passes for security staff for creators, a safe entrance and exit from meet and greet spots, floors or an elevator specifically used only by industry and creators, and security provided for everyone that needs it. For the fans, please don't touch people without permission, please don't follow creators around the con, and please save pictures for meet and greets. We really love our fans and don't want to be rude and say no to a picture, but stopping anywhere public is very unsafe for us. I am shook and very overwhelmed, but I still had such a positive experience meeting everyone. It's extremely hard to put into words how this whole thing has made me feel, but at the core I just want things to be safer and better for everyone involved. <3
