As a long time gamer and Xbox fan.
This is the best solution I see going forward that will please everyone and make Xbox fans feel first class.
All Xbox games should be:
Day one - Only on Xbox.
6 months later - PC
12 months later - Playstation/Nintendo
With this strategy everybody gets to play the game and Xbox fans can feel first class and brag that they get the game first and everybody else have to wait and if you don't want to wait, buy an Xbox.👍

3 days into launch MARATHON still has no meta score because access media were asked to withhold them until the game was in a "better" state and THEY OBLIGED.
Metacritic is supposed to allow consumers to make INFORMED decisions, not to protect corporate bottom lines.

@getonthestiix Basically, we got a copy weeks in advance, which is pretty typical. What isn’t typical is they restricted us to playing the game on March 5th, just like everyone else. Downside of a live service game I suppose.

@getonthestiix If it helps at all, we’re taking this into account with our review. They don’t get a free pass here.
They also made it virtually impossible for anyone to review the game, as everyone got access the day of release. This isn’t very common, and is another reason reviews are delayed

If a game ships without endgame content typically that would factor into a negative review. I appreciate your rationale for this exception that apparently applies to the entire media. I glad the public can trust in your independence and integrity

@getonthestiix Bungie is just asking us to wait for the end game before finalizing our reviews. I don’t like that they released the game without the end game content, but if we published our reviews today, we’d just need to update them once the update comes out. No point in reviewing today.

@MrJmoneyDeus It’s a useful feature. Swapping between games, not so much. For me at least. But being able to swap to an app, or turn the Xbox off entirely and come back a few days later, only for my game to pick up right where I left it? Yeah, that’s useful.

@astaranx What realistically makes an Xbox, an Xbox? The hardware is not unique, and the operating system is basically just a locked down copy of Windows. (Makes for easy porting)
Xbox is an ecosystem. It’s just a way to game, and that won’t be dying any time soon.

@DaReelSebas Yeah, as others said, GTA is a whole different breed. If they put it on a PS2 and made it run at a resolution of 5x5 and 3 fps people would still buy it.
Releasing PS5 games on PC day and date will naturally result in more sales, but I don’t think it’s as much as people think

If you educate parents on the perceived dangers of social media, and educate them on how to use the child safety tools that most devices (like routers) already have, then that eliminates the problem.
Again, the government is meant to govern, not to become a pseudo parent.

@MarkJCarney I know you won’t read this but who cares.
Don’t ban social media for children. A parent of a child should be the one that dictates what their children can do online, not you as the government.
Perhaps focusing on education is a better use of your resources?

Anybody advocating for console exclusives is also advocating for anticonsumerism.
If you want to play the latest Wolverine game, you must also spend additional money on a piece of plastic. Wolverine is designed to be a "system seller". Spend money just to spend more money.

Epic removing BakkesMod from Rocket League is absolutely braindead, and sweeping the problem under the rug. Sure, it'll "fix" the issue, but it's not the actual issue. The devs of Rocket League are lazy and incompetent.

@GD1rtbag @Treydemark_ @SamHain31st This happens with me as well. With 30 fps, I can usually manage maybe five minutes before I feel sick. Affects kbm more than a controller though. My theory is if the input method is faster than the frame rate, I feel sick. If the input method is slow, I feel less sick

@Treydemark_ @SamHain31st I actually have a friend who gets legitimate motion sickness if the game doesn’t run 60fps or higher. I myself don’t really notice the difference either unless the fps gets super low

Sadly (and while things can change between now and release) Pokémon Winds and Waves runs at 30 FPS on the reveal trailer, not 60 FPS like SV and ZA.

Switching Steam OS with Bazzite on @Playular. Still testing it to see how performance and such is, but so far things are looking good.
