One of the lovely NGOs that we as a #NWG community support is One heart Umunohu 💜 Here I want to share some insights of this year’s special initiative “1000 Bicycle project“ 🤗 We’re so impressed by the amazing work of my dear friend Emeka. He’s like a legend in his home town 💜

I just spent two hours on the phone with my best friend. He is seriously ill, poor and has been lonely for many years. In all the years that I have helped him out with money whenever I could, I realized one thing: it will never be enough. Being poor doesn't just mean not having money. It means being treated disrespectfully by people. It means having no one who cares about you. It means being absolutely dependent on people who think you are lazy. Of people who project their frustration with work onto those who don't (can't) work and make their lives miserable. From those who blindly work through processes without thinking about the impact the processing time has on the person who has no money for food during that time. It makes me angry to hear this. It makes me angry that it's happening. But most of all, it makes me angry that I can't help him. Not alone, because it takes more than me to do it. It takes people who want to make a difference together and who are committed to helping others. It takes good ideas and concepts that, if we implement them, can make the lives of people like my best friend more bearable. Poverty and illness can affect us all. One alone is bad. Together, it's unbearable. You may see the Flockchain community as just funny sheep. I see it as a way to connect people to maybe achieve something great together someday. As my chance to stop being angry someday.
