There’s something poetic about the Knicks repudiating one of Phil Jackson’s famous concepts.

Facts. Offense always gets talked about but the defense of this team went to a new dimension that nobody thought they could hit… Many including myself said if only they hit 7th ranked defensively. Knicks was by some metrics 1!!! KAT and Brunson weren’t such vulnerabilities.
Jay Full@isojay914

It’s acknowledged in traditional hoop talk that great defenders just need to be good in their role on offense but it’s not talked about how Brunson led the offense and excelled as a defensive role player. Timely digs running back to his man to closeout and take away driving lanes 2 steals a game many clutch steals drawing charges gang rebounding. Fighting through screens to stay out the action tracking down loose balls

Jalen Brunson (@jalenbrunson1) with an all timer for the haters at the @nyknicks parade: Success is the only revenge that matters. Because as you grow, their criticism just fades into irrelevance. As your impact gets louder, nobody can hear their opinions. You don't defeat your detractors by arguing with them, you build something so massively impactful that they disappear in its shadow. Because there's no greater waste of time than seeking validation from people living a life you wouldn't trade for anyways.

The Knicks could keep their core together for the next 3-5 years IF Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart are willing to take a pay cut, per @WindhorstESPN KAT is eligible for a 4-year, $272M extension. "If Karl Towns is willing to take a little bit of a haircut, you know, $7-10 million over the course of multiple seasons and Josh Hart is also extension eligible this summer, if both of them are willing to take a little bit of a haircut, you could see this core staying together for three, four, five years."

Tell me again how the Jalen Brunson hype is too much… 7 trophies in a single season? Crazy. Work. 2nd Rd pick. Not Athletic. Too Small. Not Worth the Contract. Bros still UNDERRATED.

@NY_Sky1 @SlamDunkSlugger EXACTLY! What’s the purpose of saying that your team dominated anything and you still loss??! It was STUPID when #BabyWemby whined about it and it’s STILL STUPID when people agree with it! Because in order to claim you dominated a team it means you won…..

@DanLauer62 I have respect for Draymond and some others who admitted that they were wrong about Knicks. Issued apologies. Many others just looking for an excuse. Doubling down. Or moving the goal post. Shows you what they are about…

@SlamDunkSlugger Amazing or telling to me is that I haven’t heard a single Spur push back on the Wemby choke/dirty narrative or the lack of respect shown to the Knicks

That narrative is annoying. NOOOOOWWW after the Knicks gentleman swept them, you say “It’s youth and inexperience of the Spurs.” That’s not giving credit to the Knicks. Don’t say, credit to the Knicks, but… BS So why did you pick the Spurs?!?!

@Fitz2314 Exactly. What a cheap feather to put in one’s hat…. “At least we dominated the first quarter!” Give them the first quarter trophy then! How’s that for a participation award?!

@SlamDunkSlugger Been saying this since the Spurs and the media made up this narrative. So, you “dominated” if you win the first quarter/half of 5 games and lose 4 of them? You lost to the Knicks 6 of 7 games this NBA season and you’re better because you had big leads? What a joke

@Generalshanks1 You did nothing but put letters together. Whatever the reasons were that they lost was the reasons they weren’t as good as Knicks. Knicks have made other teams crumble too! Those teams turned over and missed shots down stretch. Why?? Pressure and crunch time poise. Execution.

@SlamDunkSlugger I mean objectively it was more the Spurs losing it than the Knicks winning it. So it is the correct assessment lol

@CMGTheDuelist So if they’re so young and dumb, they still good enough to beat OKC and everyone else. Good enough to get to Finals. Had top defense. There’s always reasons why one lost. Knicks could’ve found reasons to lose too. What was Celtics excuse 2X last year, or Cavs for Knick comebacks

Watching the game with 2 eyes it was clear that it was the main factor. The Spurs time after time would falter because of bad turnovers, bad shot selection, bad timeout management and didn’t have that go to player or move to close out games. All of which can be tied to inexperience and is usually ironed out after a year or two of early playoff exits (think OKC vs Dallas both in 2011 and 24). This team just so happened to be the youngest squad to make the finals. Beating who? The OKC thunder. Knicks had a great run but we need to be fr about who they played to get the ring.

@j33950117 It’s part of it, but also IMO, Knicks put that intense pressure on teams where everything is magnified. Knicks have more playoff comebacks than rest of nba combined. Did it twice to Celtics last year, also Pacers, and Cavs. In reg too. Heat Spoelstra said it best. No quit.

@SlamDunkSlugger It is both though. The Knicks are the better team because of their experience. Think of some of the stupid plays the Spurs made. It wasn’t forced by the Knicks, it was the Spurs being dumb. Fox not pulling the ball out to draw a foul. Wemby hitting Castle in the back with a pass.

@RSchottenfeld The analysts who barely watch Knicks chalk Spurs losses to youth but they forget, Knicks have done this to other teams: defending champ Celtics last year 2X, Pacers in ECF, Cavs this year in ECF. More playoff comebacks than rest of nba combined. Spoelstra said Knicks don’t quit.

Prime Patrick Ewing in this era would be a nightmare: 28.6 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 4.0 BPG at his peak, carried the Knicks through wars, and left his heart and soul on the Garden floor. “There’s not many great centers. I’d be MJ in this era”

@NY_Sky1 I love the analogy of the street car driver that smashes that nitro button early in the race… He isn’t winning shit. He’s just setting up his own humiliation at the end. Meanwhile, the vet is chill, pacing and waiting for his moment to draft him and pass him at the end.
