Everyone will remember Dame in a Blazer uniform as the face of the franchise. Russ may be remembered by some by his final years bouncing from team to team because of his bad contract and that sucks because Russ was insane in OKC and should really be remembered for that.

Even fans of other teams see those types of final seasons as less of a “this player is declining” and more of a “damn he had a hell of a career there” the final seasons of a player have a lasting impact on legacy.

There’s a real case that stars staying with one team for most of their career is better for their legacy. If Russ stayed in OKC and started to decline in OKC he would have been appreciated while he declined. While it wasn’t all in his control, imagine If Russ never left OKC

pretty cool that prospects like Chet Holmgren & Shaedon Sharpe have OKC at the top of their list of preferred teams says a lot about how great of a job Presti & the coaching staff have done where guys actively recognize OKC is one of the best places to maximize their development
