Chuck Close inspired many. His precision with his large portraits is phenomenal. As one of my artists asks regarding realistic work, "It's close but is it Chuck Close?" Here are two 3' tall pencil portraits by Lizzy Pfortmiller (2017) and Sydni Herdt (2019) as an homage to Chuck.

The collaborative #environmental #art project is nearing completion. Two sides of the environment are done. Nearly all of the features to be placed in the #environment are done. The vast majority of this piece is made from cardboard and #repurposed used materials. @sc_bigredwon

Update on the collaborative environmental art project: progress is happening. We are not only using recyclable used cardboard as our primary medium, we are also #repurposing used fast food wrappers and many other materials. #environment @sc_bigredwon

Environmental art. 21 high school artists are creating a sculptural environment made largely from used cardboard which can be recycled. Many of the smaller items are made from cardboard and repurposed non-recyclable materials. #recycle #environment #sustainability @sc_bigredwon
