Cowboys fans love asking “why start at 2000?” any time you compare how these franchises have stacked up. Then, in the same breath, they want to drag the argument back to the 60s to talk about rings. So let’s be real, why is 2000 the cutoff? Because that’s when the modern era of both organizations actually begins. Jeffrey Lurie didn’t take over until the mid-90s. Before him, the Eagles were a poorly run franchise letting Reggie White walk, playing on a literal hazard of a field, and operating with no real infrastructure.
