Hello, is anybody there? Is there still any PE conversation on 'twitter' these days or has everybody moved on? This was such a hub of activity and discourse that really dived deep into all things PE back in the day. Who is still about?

@PremiershipYrs Modern day players are painfully quiet on the pitch. Never underestimate how useful a good communicator is.

Jordan Henderson is a painfully limited footballer who's managed to make himself valuable mainly by yelling at much better players than himself, telling them what they should do, often things he can't or doesn't do. Oh and he's a "great lad to have around the place" 👍

@jimmaxcricket What’s the surprise about how BM goes about his work? He was an outlier as a player and continues to be as a coach. People are ok with it when England are going for and chasing down 360+, then start crying when we lose in Australia (like we alway do!)

@WG_RumblePants Not something we’re very good at then, really? It’s admirable to aim for it, but watching Australia/India just shows how far away we are.

@SnellerMr The rankings were introduced in 2003. 2011 in the only time England were top.

Surely f’n loving cricket and f’n loving being England captain are just core expectations of the role? It’s like bowlers being praised on commentary for running in hard all day. That’s their job isn’t it? If they’re not doing that, what the hell are they doing playing for England. What I want to know is what practical steps are England going to take to become the best, fittest, most ambitious, most technically skilled Test team in the world?

@cric_blog The same England players that have all failed when going to Australia?! The only players you can possibly take advice from is that group from 2010/11.

"When we got to Australia, we didn't know that the things we were doing weren't going to work." Except for the ex-players who warned you and yet their views were ignored. Stokes even called them "has-beens". Rubbish from Rob Key.

@adamboxer1 @gmhales Me too! And by some absolute miracle both of my children are currently on 100% for the school year when they were at 89% and 90% last year!

Why do schools reward kids with 100% attendance as if being ill is somehow a moral failure?

Everyone moaning football’s boring, then an old fashioned showboater comes along who’s entire game isn’t based on being 6ft something and running fast and people kick off. Grow up, it’s nice to see a player with a bit of personality for once.

@OliverKay I liked the ball-juggle, I also like it when those players get smashed for doing it! Entertainment all round.

Absolutely loved Rayan Cherki's performance today. I'm sure people will get weirdly uppity about the ball-juggling thing, but I love watching him nytimes.com/athletic/live-…

I see constant complaints about how there are no characters or mavericks in the game anymore. Within 10 seconds of this little bit of showmanship, Cherki was being lambasted by comms for being disrespectful. Need more of it. Cherki top boy.

This is why VAR needs to get in the bin. Both are subjective decisions, ref sees them as slightly different, VAR has done what people have been asking for and not got involved in something that they don’t see a clear and obvious error in.
