The @topazlabs video upscaler in @AdobeFirefly Boards is SO incredibly powerful. Why is it so good? Why does it constantly amaze me? I actually get giddy when I see the results. Will it magically make everything awesome? You'll just have to try and see.

This is for all those fans of the current series of All Creatures Great and Small. Whose farm?? It’s rarely bathed in such sunshine.

Remember when people just ‘knew’ things? They didn’t need to <Google> everything every five minutes, nor was there a constant ‘challenge’ of one’s knowledge, which today feels more like sport than info-seeking.

@Beatlejase @MagicWindowPro Then sets of drives for the Qnap NAS. I was on my first set 14tb, hoping they can rebuild it. Then I can move to 16tb

@Beatlejase @MagicWindowPro My workflow:- Working from 2 X 4 Tb ssds drives D: and E: they hold about 5 months (though the mavic4 pro might be shrinking that) Data. Fill D: then E: when E: is full Empty D: when it's full repeat. Data on D: and E: get backed up to 14tb F: auto F: backs up to NAS auto

In 15+ yrs, I've had 3 large-capacity drives die on me, each one LaCie. After the first loss (a BigDisk, remember those?) I vowed never to use again. But I bought another and that drive died after 2yrs. Somehow I was reeled back in. My 10TB d2 just died. Attempting recovery now🤬

@Beatlejase @MagicWindowPro Hey Jace, as a working video pro, I have a backup on a 14 tb platter that backs up to a NAS, 4 weeks ago the NAS Lost a drive which I swapped out for the same drive (Brand, type, capacity). The NAS (Qnap) was supplied by PC shop, it's back there.....not happy.

@MagicWindowPro Hey Joseph! Aww man, that sucks. Luckily, all the data *is* backed up, but if i can't get the drive back up and running, it means that I'll likely have to take the plunge (and $$) to move to a NAS (which I've been putting off)

At 50, life quietly hands you the bill for all the choices you made when no one was watching. Your body is no longer forgiving, so health stops being motivational talk and becomes a daily responsibility. What you eat, how you sleep, whether you move or not now shows up in your blood pressure, joints, and energy levels. This is the age where prevention is cheaper than treatment, and discipline matters more than motivation. At 50, money is no longer about ambition but about stability and dignity. Risky moves that made sense at 30 can now destroy decades of effort. You should know exactly what you own, what you owe, and what will still pay you if you stop working tomorrow. This is the decade where assets must be doing the heavy lifting, not your body. If your income still depends only on showing up physically every day, you are under pressure. At 50, relationships become brutally honest. You no longer have time for performative friendships, noisy associations, or emotional stress disguised as loyalty. The people around you either bring peace, growth, or value, or they slowly drain what is left. This is the age where boundaries are not arrogance, they are survival. At 50, legacy replaces ego. You begin to think less about being admired and more about being useful. Who have you trained. Who can stand because you lifted them. What systems, values, or structures will remain when you slow down. This is when wisdom matters more than opinions, and silence often speaks louder than arguments. At 50, life is not ending, but it is no longer rehearsing. Every year counts more. Every decision is heavier. And every delay costs more than it used to. If you are intentional, this decade can be calm, respected, and deeply fulfilling. If you are careless, it can be exhausting and regret-filled. The difference is no longer knowledge. It is action.

A friend shared a song he made with Suno. The mixed WAV sounded good, but all Suno tracks I hear have this low-bitrate mp3 sound (despite showing data up to 24k) so I had him provide stems. Same thing. Each stem sounded like an OG 192k mp3 (all WAV). Is that just the way it is?
