Don’t get me wrong. They’re a good, even great fire department. They’re terrible at showing the great things they do.

I try my best to stay positive. But @CALFIRERRU has by far the worst PIOs and social media presence out of all So Cal agencies. They’re consistently a day late and a dollar short of any informative information.

BACK COUNTRY RESCUE - rpt @ 12:14PM at Bear Track Ct. x Old Cattle Trail off of Coyote Canyon Rd. in the unincorporated area of Anza. Crews are actively trying to access a hiker reporting a medical emergency while on the California Section B portion of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. Riverside County Sheriff's Aviation Unit Rescue9 has been requested to hoist the hiker to a designated landing zone. Patient injuries are being assessed. #TrailIC @RivCoNow

@CALFIRERRU Curious how you got the call. Was it via traditional cell phone and 911 system?

Ash is still falling in my yard and I found this piece of charred insulation. I live 9 miles from this fire. @SBCOUNTYFIRE

People can rip on California and some of it is fair criticism. But when I first started, there was no such thing as night flying water dropping helicopters. Most states and countries don’t have night flying water dropping helicopters. Our firefighting air fleet is second to none.

#SpringsFire the dew point in the IE is at 8° F right now. Keep in mind, thats 24 degrees below freezing. In other words, no humidity recovery is on the way.

I’m not in the immediate area of the #SpringsFire but I’m close to it. The wind has certainly died down for the afternoon. However, the humidity has dropped like a rock. I’m at 6% RH in the IE. Don’t expect a wind driven fire tonight, but hot spots will continue to burn.
