His politics are rooted in centralization, control, and the personalization of state authority. To him, dissent is not a democratic feature to be managed - it is a threat to be neutralized. He does not believe in constitutional restraint, federalism, or power-sharing as principles. Federal member states are not partners in a national compact, but obstacles to be weakened, isolated, or brought to heel. His second four year term of spectacular failure have exposed the pattern - weaponized state power, constitutional vandalism, the erosion of federalism, looting, personal enrichment and political warfare against Puntland, Jubaland, and now Southwest State. Soon GM and HS if they dare to hold elections. Mogadishu remains political & $ prostitute for him. What happens next is anyone’s guess, but the days of lawlessness and conflict are back in Somalia.
