It’s time for Nigerians, young and old, to take ownership of their political future. Stop letting the same politicians recycle failure across generations; they lied to your grandparents, they probably did to your dad and mom, too, and now you can stand up for yourself. Get involved, get organised, and stand for integrity, transparency, and justice in leadership. Join a REVOLUTIONARY party here: aacparty.com/connect/7EBE00… My name is Omoyele Sowore @sowore . I approve this message.

No amount of propaganda can rescue a failed Tinubu regime—neither “city boys” nor “village people” can mask the reality Nigerians face. #TinubuMustGoNow #RevolutionNow

I once spoke in Ebonics, fluid, raw, and unfiltered, but over time, that part of my voice has faded. What remains, however, is the essence of what I was always trying to say, the message itself, undiluted and intact. Enjoy!

I have read about the court-ordered detention of an individual known as B-Lord, and I must say this clearly that no one should celebrate the incarceration of any person under the color of law. I have reached out to my astute rights lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, urging him to disengage from the process. We must all agree that sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. Rather, it risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens. Justice must never be reduced to punishment for its own sake. I will work to ensure this case is discontinued and B-Lord is released without further delay.

Is it possible that the individuals reportedly negotiating Donald J. Trump to end the needless Iranian war are actually Nigerian “prince” scammers posing as a new Iranian regime? Is it the reason @DonaldTrump has decided to throw in the towel?

Overnight, more than 80 people were reportedly killed in Jos. When a nation’s Defence Minister is more focused on helping a failed ruling party like the All Progressives Congress @OfficialAPCNg organize its convention than on safeguarding lives, what outcome should citizens realistically expect?

I thought the paid hype persons of @alexottiofr claimed he is opposed to Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT and the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg )? Yet here we are. The Political Ponzi Schemers at the Obidient Movement are all working tirelessly for @OfficialAPCNg and their fellow Ponzi Schemers at the City Boys Movement!

The Federal Government must intervene to end death sentences for blasphemy, particularly Sheikh Abuljabbar Kabara, who was summarily tried and sentenced to death by politically motivated avengers in Kano. No human being should lose their life over their beliefs or expressions. God does not need executioners. I am pretty sure that God could fight for himself! #Freesheikhabduljabbarkabara

The tinted-glass activists at the Nigeria Bar Association led by @afamosigwe have finally woken up to the reality that judges have been abusing lawyers. But the problem goes far beyond the bench (Judges). Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG officers routinely slap lawyers, harass them, and bundle them out of interrogation rooms like common criminals. The @OfficialDSSNG blocks lawyers from accessing their clients, undermining the very foundation of legal representation. In several instances, @OfficialDSSNG operatives have even hijacked court premises, turning judicial gatehouses into screening checkpoints where lawyers are intimidated and maltreated. So beyond issuing press statements and selective outrage, what exactly is the @NigBarAssoc prepared to do?

SHAMELESS STATE GOVERNORS. These are the “elected” jokers holding Nigeria back, governing on a mandate that lacks legitimacy and dragging the country, Nigeria, in the wrong direction through their individual misgoverned states.

Response to @NigBarAssoc President @afamosigwe I have read the statement issued by the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association @NigBarAssoc , and I must say this is yet another sad day for democracy in Nigeria. While I understand that the NBA may feel compelled to defend one of its own, such defense must not be built on falsehoods. The truth matters especially from an institution that claims to uphold fairness, justice and the rule of law. First, the NBA and its president falsely claimed that I staged a press conference in court on a day when my case was not listed. This is incorrect. I was present at the Federal High Court to obtain the Certified True Copy of a ruling and order striking out a baseless cybercrime charge filed against me in January 2025 by the then illegal IGP, Kayode Egbetokun. Upon arrival, the court registrar informed me that the judge had declined to sign the order because the @PoliceNG had secretly filed an ex parte motion to relist the case, and then curiously filed another motion to withdraw that same ex parte application. We were told that Justice M.S. Liman would only sign the ruling after addressing those motions. We protested this irregularity and were asked to wait for the judge to resume sitting. While waiting, media personnel attached to the Federal High Court approached me as they routinely do and requested comments. I obliged. This is standard practice. These journalists are part of the court environment; they interact freely with lawyers, litigants, and observers. Even Mr. @afamosigwe SAN himself witnessed a courtroom filled with media during my first day of trial. I did not organize any press conference. I responded to questions, as I have done consistently over the years, including during my 2019 treason trial under the @MBuhari regime even though the @OfficialDSSNG would smuggle me in and out of the court using the judge’s elevator bank. The NBA’s selective outrage is troubling. Where was this energy when @OfficialDSSNG operatives invaded a courtroom to abduct me before a sitting judge? Where was the defense of the sanctity of the court when state actors repeatedly violated court orders and trampled on the rights of citizens? Instead, we now see an attempt to distort facts and shield misconduct a by a senior member of the bar, Musbau Akinlami, SAN who acted recklessly with impunity. It is also important to note that court records will show that my case was indeed before the court, with both the police counsel and my lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, present. After proceedings, the judge reaffirmed his decision striking out the case and ordered the release of my international passport, which had been unjustly seized. The attempt by some lawyers, including Senior Advocate Musbau, to intimidate and harass us in court, issuing threats, attempting to destroy equipment, and even calling the police, only underscores the growing culture of impunity. The police themselves found no wrongdoing but I understand that even Musbau. SAN didn’t bargain for what this teachable moment presented at the end of the encounter. So, no surprises here about this. The NBA cannot claim to defend the rule of law while ignoring abuses by powerful state actors and amplifying misleading narratives against victims of those abuses. This is not just disappointing, it is dangerous. If the NBA truly seeks to protect the integrity of the legal profession and the courts, it must begin with honesty, consistency, and courage. not selective outrage. Indeed, this is another sad day for democracy in Nigeria.

AFAM OSIGWE@afamosigwe

THE COURT SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A STAGE FOR MEDIA BRIEFING Courtrooms in a constitutional democracy are open to the public not as arenas for performance, but as sanctuaries for the orderly administration of justice. Their openness promotes transparency and public confidence, yet it also imposes a duty of restraint on all who enter. Access to the courtroom is therefore a right exercised within boundaries of decorum, discipline, and respect for judicial authority. The courtroom exists solely for adjudication, and its openness cannot be stretched to permit activities unrelated to that purpose. It is against this background that the Nigerian Bar Association @NigBarAssoc views with grave concern the incident involving Mr. Omoyele Sowore @sowore, yesterday March 24th, 2026, at the Federal High Court, Abuja. Mr. Sowore entered the courtroom accompanied by a number of individuals carrying camera phones and recording equipment. He proceeded to set up what appeared to be preparations for a press conference within the courtroom itself. Members of his team attended to him, fanning his face and tidying his appearance in a manner akin to a broadcast setting. He subsequently moved into the inner bar, sat on one of the tables, and, as cameras were directed at him, began addressing what he described as “a range of national issues.” Notably, Mr. Sowore’s case was not listed for hearing, and he was not accompanied by any legal practitioner during this episode. The development led to tension within the courtroom and a confrontation with learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, who objected to the conduct and insisted on maintaining courtroom decorum. Courtrooms are solemn spaces dedicated to the administration of justice. Any conduct that undermines the dignity of the court, intimidates legal practitioners, or disrupts proceedings constitutes a grave affront to the rule of law. The use of a courtroom as a venue for publicity, advocacy theatrics, or confrontation is unacceptable and inconsistent with the discipline required in judicial proceedings. While every Nigerian, including Mr. Sowore, is entitled to attend and observe court proceedings, such right must be exercised responsibly and with due regard to courtroom decorum. Public access to the courts does not extend to converting the courtroom into a platform for press briefings or actions capable of undermining the dignity and authority of the court, whether or not the court is in session. The NBA therefore condemns Mr. Sowore’s disruption of the courtroom environment and expresses solidarity with Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, and all lawyers who insisted on maintaining decorum. We also call on court authorities to ensure that courtrooms remain protected spaces for the orderly administration of justice and free from acts capable of intimidating legal practitioners in the discharge of their professional duties. The NBA will continue to defend the dignity of the legal profession and the sanctity of judicial proceedings. The courtroom must remain a place of order, respect, disciplined advocacy, and responsible public access, not spectacle, confrontation, or disorder. Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN President, Nigerian Bar Association
