@BrendanDWillis Agree. Could argue that the demands of the sport may lead to certain elements of strength being prioritised, but still achieved through conventional “traditional” strength training

I DON’T think athletes need sport specific strength training. But, I DO think athletes need sport specific conditioning. All my athletes will be squatting, pulling, pressing, and carrying but their conditioning protocols will mimic demands of their sport. Agree or disagree?

@tomnoon89 Been fortunate to use @kanga_tech 360 and it does a great job of highlighting strength / asymmetry of hip & groin. Often players have strong adductors but poor strength / endurance of rotators. All contribute to pelvic stability in addition to adequate core str / endurance

... and here are the latest Championship scatter graphics. Norwich and Blackburn have looked the most dangerous going forward, while Derby have had a real problem with converting chances. experimental361.com/2020/12/20/sca… (Premier League ones will follow after tomorrow's matches,)

What is the best way to visualise / understand a players current physical training load at any one time, over the course of a season? Rolling avg/sum; A:C ratio (EWMA, daily, weekly); % of match, % max; % change between days / weeks? etc. #minefield

@CoachSlay_9 @ZachDechant What if field sport team training sessions are very sport & movement specific, & involve high velocity actions but are also very stochastic. What then is the best way to train the aerobic system?

"I don't want a team of cross-country runners, I want a team of thoroughbreds." @ZachDechant When it comes to most field sports, sprint training is optimal over long endurance runs due to specificity, yet why are most sports still performing LSD runs in training?

Do you use @catapultsports or @statsports GPS systems to monitor your training? If so, why do you use that particular brand and not the other? 💻 ⚽️ 🏃🏽‍♂️
