Notice I said "TASM Peter was the last time they tried to make Peter honest-to-god flawed while being the mc." Not "TASM was the ONLY time..."
This is a subtle reference to the fact Raimi fans hate the possibility of anyone liking other adaptations of Peter more than their fav.

@RealTruggler how long has it been since you’ve seen the raimi films? his peter is NOT less flawed than webb’s or the mcu’s, i would argue he’s the most flawed of them all. in his final conversation with ben, he’s much more cruel towards him than webb’s was.

@justaguy0507 should I remind you that the screenwriters of TASM 2 were Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman? Same dudes who wrote Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Alex Kurtzman himself directed The Mummy 2017 shitass movie

@justaguy0507 Mind you, not only executives wanted to turn TASM 2 into a start of a grand Spider-Man Cinematic Universe with many teasers to some movies like Sinister Six and Catwoman film, the original script itself wasn't great either unfortunately

Daily reminder that the reason why Peter Parker is written so safely nowadays in every medium is because Raimi fanboys couldn't handle Andrew Garfield's Peter not being a copy of Tobey Maguire's Peter, and thus we're stuck with writers constantly trying to copy that template.
