@NotSoLittleC Tbh, I agree with John Romero in that AI NPCs is a good use of the tech once it gets there, achieving a level of immersion that's not otherwise been possible. Not every use case of AI in games is unethical, it's not that black & white. The alternative is tech stagnation 👎

@jackie_codes Disagree (as it's presented as a binary choice 😄). You need to be extremely knowledgeable about the particular genre of game you're developing (which probably means putting the hours into those games), but not necessarily have played a lot of games in general imo.

@igdmag Unity at work currently, but Unreal is always my first choice otherwise and what I use in my spare time for any prototyping etc.

@mattgamedevguy I've had lots of success asking it how to do things in both UE5 and Unity, and it's saved heaps of time where I'd have to otherwise spend ages trawling through documentation or forums. I'd say it depends on what you're asking it, and it helps if you already know how to code.
