На данашњи дан 1999. године, српској Небеској војсци, придружила се
Љиљана Жикић Карађорђевић
(1957–1999)
Мајка шесторо деце. Хероина.
Мис Југославије 1978. године, магистар организационих наука, уметница и жена која је имала све - али је изабрала најтежи пут. Када је њена земља била нападнута, није остала по страни. Добровољно је обукла униформу Војске Југославије и отишла на Косово и Метохију.
Као припадник 125. моторизоване бригаде, живот је дала 1. априла 1999. године код села Љубенић, у 42. години - заједно са саборцима.
Није била само лепота. Била је снага. Није била само мајка. Била је штит.
Пре одласка у рат написала је стихове који су постали њен завет:
„БРАНИЋУ СРБИЈУ И КАД БУДЕМ МРТВА“
И кад умрем ја ћу ногом стати
Да стојим ко храбра и висока стена
Поглед ће вечно границу да прати
Ни гроб ми неће рећи да ме нема.
Изникнућу свуда где се миче цвеће
Где ваздуха има и где нема, тамо
За све ћу бити и за шта се не зна
И за оно кол'ко можемо да знамо.
Стражар ћу бити сурови и страшни
Туђин и лопов да се стално плаши
Јер Србин не може да се зове робом
Србија ту су сви векови наши.
Чуваћу границу српске земље моје

Bucha. Four years ago.
Over 500 bodies were discovered there — many showing signs of torture and rape. The trauma inflicted on the people of Bucha, and the whole Ukraine from that terrible Russian occupation, will haunt generations.
Just one day before the Russians withdrew, my friends and I were less than 20 kilometers away from Bucha. We came under heavy shelling. Grad rockets rained down around us. The walls shook violently, and the windows shattered. To this day, I thank God that we survived. It was only by His will. Had the Russians adjusted their trajectory even slightly, you would no longer remember my name.
On April 4, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Bucha. His face was twisted with horror as he walked among the bodies. Yet, standing before dozens of television cameras, he declared that negotiations — which were then underway in Istanbul — would continue. At that moment, he still wanted to do everything to stop the war.
In just a few weeks, everything would change.
