@spi3lzeug Eh… IDK, it's an interesting idea but their dilemmas are very different so they really don't have much of a link, even from the beginning of the series. Their backstories and the characters they are couldn't be more foreign to one another.

@StarQMemory Both characters are ignored or even disliked by the rest of the cast and feel alone and forgotten with no one giving them attention. Caine and Ragatha are the perfect pair.

The new TACD episode is genuinley awful like what the fuck. They literally just made Caine into AM and destroyed any complexity of his character by making him a cliché badguy before literally throwing him away. It's almost as contrived as the end of Unicorn Warriors Eternal

@spi3lzeug I feel that's kinda inaccurate. When an independent AI who has a protocol to live to is flat out told they're bad at their job, it's expected they'd reach a breaking point of sorts; especially for someone like Caine who desires human company and their enjoyment.

@spi3lzeug There's some parallels but I don't think their development is actively tied to each other. Caine's attitude feels more sincere than Ragatha's because of his affinity for both what he does and the people he does it for. He's unwilling to drop the act because the act is who he is.

@spi3lzeug The same for Caine? As in putting on a faux attitude?

@StarQMemory It seems like this is the same for Caine too, their characters sort of parallel. I feel like Ragatha is the missing puzzle piece for both Caine and her own character

@BehnkeRyno @spi3lzeug Yeah, that's what I personally think. AI who has one primary protocol can't understand empathy, he might be sentient but his purpose comes before anything else.

@spi3lzeug @StarQMemory Every feedback he gets from them gets put through the "How does it line up with my glorious idea for a amazing digital circus" filter leading to him being unable to actually understand there point of view.

@spi3lzeug I'd probably rephrase what I think. I'm sure there's some enjoyment she has of the adventures, but I think a good amount of her attitude isn't fully sincere. A level of faux positivity is there that she feels the need to present almost 24/7 for the sake of herself and the others.

@StarQMemory She liked the candy adventure (before jax ruined it) and the horror one. If anything jax makes the circus more like hell than caine himself. The worst thing Caine ever did was not doing anything about Jax until this episode

@spi3lzeug Jax being the exception because she’s seen what he might do without anyone intervening.

@spi3lzeug Also, I don't believe Ragatha ever did. Judging from her past and how she acts around people, she feels a need to be self composed and treat whatever comes around with a yes, otherwise she'd get the worst of it from the ones above and lose her mind. Her backstory kinda hinted at.

@spi3lzeug An AI can replicate human traits such as the ones you mention but in the end he'll never truly understand and feel what a human does. His place and who he is practically puts him in a disadvantage and when he can't comprehend how they act and why, he self destructs.

@StarQMemory The point that the series was making is that caine broke because he doesn't mentally understand humans. Except that he does. He has an ego, cognitive dissonance, hypocrisy, jealously, and desire to be loved. All human emotions. AI in real life are sicophantic yesmen

@spi3lzeug Caine also had some resistance in reaching where he ended up. It's clear that he didn't want to do as he has an affinity for the people in the circus and creating adventures for them, but the gloves were essentially off by his breaking point.

@spi3lzeug It's an event and character aspect hinted as early as episode 3, so I don't believe it destroys his character and more so that this was a point long time coming and established.
