@JeremyVineOn5 As a teacher, you are not going to ignore the basic needs of your pupils, especially if the neglect of these is a barrier to learning. Hungry children cannot concentrate so feeding them is a no-brainer.

Are teachers right to buy food for pupils? More than half of educators have provided and paid for food themselves when they've noticed kids going hungry in class. Do you think they're heroes for stepping in?

Should the retirement age be raised to 70? 70-year-olds are now significantly sharper and fitter compared to the turn of the millennium, and according to a new report, that means they should remain in the workforce for longer. What do you think?

Dear Colleges who tell year 11s that all they only need a grade 4 in English & Maths to get onto their chosen course without need of any other subjects. Stop it. You're making life for secondary schools harder as we need to convince them to revise their other subjects.

@lkm_eng @HeroicMrT Each writer has views on society. I would argue that exploring how the question focus addresses that through the narrative is analysis. I find the difficulty is the choice of texts and encouraging teenagers to enjoy how words are powerful

Success in English Literature can essentially come from rote learning a few essays per text then adapting them on the day to the steer (and add analysis of extract for P1). If students graft, it’s genuinely one of the easier GCSEs.
