BREAKING: Iran has officially rejected the US' peace proposal and sets five conditions for an end to the war. Iran's conditions include: 1. Immediate end to attacks and assassinations on Iran 2. Establishment of "concrete guarantees" against future US attacks 3. "Clear determination and guaranteed payment" for war damages 4. International recognition of Iran's "authority" over Strait of Hormuz 5. An end to the war across all fronts, including for all Iranian proxies in the region We now await a response from the US.

COMEX silver inventories are falling: Silver inventories in COMEX warehouses have fallen -34 million ounces from their high, to 415 million ounces, the lowest since March 2025. The stockpile has dropped -117 million ounces, or -22%, since September’s peak. Falling silver inventories indicate strong physical demand as short sellers struggle to find actual metal to deliver against their futures contracts. When these traders cannot find enough physical silver to buy, they have to pay higher prices demanded by sellers. This pushes silver prices even higher, which then forces more traders to buy to avoid losses, tightening market conditions even further. The silver short-squeeze is in full-swing.

I asked about his marketing strategy. "I don't have one. google sends people to my blog. blog mentions the guide. people buy it. I go play golf." no email sequence? "I have a newsletter. I send fish tips once a week. sometimes I mention the guide at the bottom. that's it." no upsells? "I made a second guide about saltwater tanks specifically. $67. people who bought the first one usually buy the second. that's my whole business." no team? "my wife helps with customer service. we get maybe 10 emails a day. most are just people showing us their tanks." this 61 year old retiree built a bigger business than most "entrepreneurs" I know. no ads. no funnel hacks. no growth strategies. no personal brand. just mass expertise in one weird niche and patience to let it compound. before we landed he gave me advice I didn't ask for: "everyone your age wants to get rich fast. that's why most of you stay broke. I wrote about fish for 2 years before making a dollar. now I make more than I did in 30 years of accounting. speed is overrated. patience pays." the plane landed. he grabbed his newspaper and walked off. probably went home to feed his fish.

The number one requirement to be a successful entrepreneur is having an unreasonable amount of determination. Be stubborn on goals, and persistent in finding ways around anything that might stop you getting there.

BREAKING: Copper prices in New York hit a record $11,600 per ton on Wednesday. Prices have risen ~28% over the last 3 months driven by rising tariff uncertainty. At the same time, copper prices in London have increased 15% and hit ~$10,000 per ton, the highest since June. As a result, prices in New York are now ~$1,600 higher than in London, the largest difference on record. This has created an arbitrage opportunity where traders buy cheaper international cargoes and ship them to the US before tariffs are imposed. However, they risk significant losses if their copper cargoes arrive after tariffs are implemented. Truly unprecedented times.

Why is crypto crashing on tariffs? Here's our take: 1. At first glance, you may think that trade wars would benefit crypto, a decentralized system 2. However, over the last 24 hours, $2.3 BILLION was liquidated from crypto, an even larger 24-hour liquidation than the collapse of FTX 3. So why is this happening? The first answer is that crypto has become increasingly correlated with risky assets 4. Throughout 2024, the correlation coefficient between Bitcoin and the S&P 500 hit 0.88 at its peak (with 0 being no correlation and 1 being absolute correlation) 5. As stock market futures sell off on expectations of higher inflation and slower GDP growth, crypto follows 6. On top of this, markets are pricing-in reduced LIQUIDITY 7. If the last 5 years have taught us anything, it's that crypto markets weaken when liquidity dries up 8. Where does this liquidity go? Ironically, a lot of it flows back into the US Dollar which just hit a 52-week high 9. The US Dollar becomes the "safest risky asset" during trade wars because it's the most "stable" currency 10. This comes as self-directed retail investors bought $1 billion+ of crypto ETFs in December alone 11. Record levels of retail capital has flowed into crypto markets amid Trump memecoin launches which has broadened price swings 12. The perceived loss of STABILITY in crypto worried retail investors last night, causing Ripple and other currencies to fall 40%+ 13. In particular, the 45-minute candlestick at 8:30 PM ET appeared to be fear-driven and its subsequent reversal was telling 14. Overall, crypto markets view trade wars as de-risking events with weaker economic growth, less liquidity, a stronger US Dollar, and less stability During the last trade war, crypto markets were worth under $300 million. Today, crypto markets are over 10 TIMES larger and far more integrated with financial markets. More volatility is to be expected.
