And the update is approved. That was fast. For the first time I’m going to do a phased release. Still not sure I’m ready to push the button. #BuildInPublic

Done. Submitted for review. Fingers crossed. Either it goes well and fine, or I missed something and user data disappear, and this will be over. #BuildInPublic

I guess I’m ready to submit the update to the App Store. The data migrations works well. Tested on multiple data and my own data (TestFlight). What could go wrong. #BuildInPublic

Looking to buy a Studio Display, but can't decide if I need to go for the nano textured version. My current display is a Dell P2715Q which has a 3H Anti-glare coating, but I’m not sure how this compares to the normal SD.

I repeat myself, but I really hate the part when you deploy your schema changes to CloudKit. Even more when I just want to test, but only for me. Having to deploy to everybody, even if not used, means if you made a wrong choice, it is there, forever. #BuildInPublic

I'm im the « I need to setup the server » phase now. The scary one. The part where it means I’ll be responsible for the uptime, the data, the backup. I need to do it, can't continue with direct TGDB access. But it’s scary. #BuildInPublic

iOS and iPad migration works well. iCloud migration works too. Last part, migrating old data between devices, so mixing iCloud and old version. What could go wrong. #BuildInPublic

I think all code path are now performing the user data migration. Just need to test and test and test. Between normal usage, iCloud sync, iPad app, backup restoration, there is a lot. #BuildInPublic

Until now I managed 2 sets of icons, pre iOS 26 and iOS 26. Now with so much icons it becomes a pain. The render of iOS 26 icons on iOS 18 is not great, but more than 70% of my users are on iOS 26 so I think im going to drop those iOS 18 specific icons. #BuildInPublic

I need to take a break from testing. Going to work a bit on the new icons for the end of the day. #BuildInPublic

As for the games ID it will be per game basis when accessing game detail. Since I kept TGDB Ids along side mine I can retrieve the corresponding one and update the local data. #BuildInPublic

Games user’s data migration is going well. I’ve opted for a local migration. My DB is a mirror of TGDB, but IDs of genres, regions, platforms, companies and games changed. So, on update I’ll seed the db with new data, and use mapping file to match the new IDs. #BuildInPublic

Played a bit of Zelda 1. How did I manage to finish this game when I was young. It’s so hard! 😅

I'm just procrastinating and I don't want to start working on user data migration. So scary.

@alexxtomas_ I should have been more detailed. That's for project I worked alone, where I define what I need, and when the list of ideas is long, it is really easy to add more, instead of pausing, refining and shipping.

@StrAbZ Strong take. Teams with tight feedback loops ship faster and compound weekly. Curious: what metric do you track first?

The biggest trap with LLMs (and I often start to fall for it), is the over engineering. It is so easy to add more and more, and refine, and expand.
