I am begging the internet to stop showing me "5-to-9 morning routines" where someone drinks structured water, journals for an hour, and ice plunges before sunrise. My morning routine is hitting snooze until the fear of homelessness physically drags me out of bed. That’s it. That’s the routine.

"I was outside getting high and I saw about 5 ants just roaming around on top of the steps and I noticed there was only one ant that wasn't holding anything like the other 4 were holding Dorito bits or something and the ant seemed sad it wasn't even going in the same pace as the other ants so I put a cookie crumb next to him and he picked it up and started running as fast as the other ants and I think I made that little ants day"

MY UNCLE was always the wealthy benefactor of our family. He wore tailored suits, drove a pristine Mercedes, and gifted everyone expensive jewelry or electronics for Christmas. We all assumed he made a fortune as a high-level corporate consultant. He was the standard my parents always held up to me as the definition of success. When he passed away last month, he left instructions that I should be the one to clear out his PRIVATE OFFICE space in the city. I expected a sleek penthouse office. Instead, the address led me to a cramped, windowless room above a dry cleaner’s shop in a working-class neighborhood. Inside, there were no corporate trophies or stock portfolios. There was just a single desk, an old typewriter, and dozens of pawn slips dating back thirty years. I opened the top drawer and found a stack of personal journals. He hadn't been a corporate consultant since 1994; he had been laid off during a massive corporate downsizing and never managed to secure a high-paying role again. Instead of admitting FAILURE to a family that idolized him, he had spent three decades working three different night-shift security jobs, systematically pawning his own personal assets and taking out high-interest PERSONAL LOANS just to maintain the illusion of wealth so he could keep paying for his sister’s MEDICAL TREATMENTS and his nephews' college tuition. The luxury lifestyle we all envied was completely fabricated. The man we thought was a ruthless capitalist was actually a ghost, destroying his own life to keep his family afloat.

I found out my little cat knows how to pee in the toilet. For a while, late at night, I'd hear it. I figured, ok, someone got up to pee. But I never heard them go back to their room. I'd get up to check, nobody there. After a few times, I caught a glimpse of my cat darting out of the bathroom. I was like "no way, I wanna see him do it" but he'd run out if he heard me and I only ever heard it late at night in the dead silence. I happened to hear him do it one day in the middle of the day when I was home alone and crept over to catch him. Anyway, yea. He pees in the toilet. He follows me in there sometimes, I assume he learned watching me

Several years ago, I was hired by a wealthy businessman who was convinced his wife was having an affair. I work as a private investigator, so requests like that aren't unusual. From the very first meeting, he seemed absolutely certain. He wasn't asking whether she was cheating. He was asking how long it would take us to prove it. He paid for an extensive surveillance package and instructed us to document everything. According to him, he wanted evidence for an upcoming divorce. So we started our investigation. For months, we followed his wife's routine. What we found wasn't exactly what he expected. Most of her time was spent volunteering. She helped organize food drives, worked with local charities, volunteered at community events, and regularly visited children's programs and support centers. The more we looked, the less suspicious she seemed. If anything, she appeared to be exactly who she claimed to be. Meanwhile, the husband's behavior was a different story. During the course of the investigation, we repeatedly documented him meeting other women. Some visits were brief. Others lasted hours. There wasn't much ambiguity about what was happening. By the four-month review meeting, we had assembled a detailed report. The conclusion was straightforward. We had found no evidence that his wife was being unfaithful. We had, however, gathered substantial evidence that he was. When we presented the findings, he was furious. Not because of what he had done. Because we hadn't given him the story he wanted. He accused us of wasting his money, insisted we had failed our job, canceled the contract on the spot, and refused to pay the remaining balance. According to him, he had hired us to prove his wife was cheating. Since we hadn't done that, he believed he owed us nothing. That argument didn't hold up very well. The evidence belonged to the investigation, and the unpaid invoices remained outstanding. Not long afterward, his wife became aware of what had been uncovered. Once she learned the truth about her husband's behavior, the marriage ended quickly. The divorce proceedings were anything but pleasant. From what I later heard, the evidence played a significant role in the outcome. The man who had been so desperate to expose someone else's betrayal ended up exposing his own. Our company also pursued legal action to recover the money he owed. The court ruled in our favor, and the debt was eventually paid. Several months later, after everything had settled down, I happened to run into his ex-wife again. This time there were no investigations, reports, or surveillance files involved. We ended up talking over coffee. One conversation turned into several more. And before long, we started dating. It's still one of the strangest cases I've ever worked. A man hired me to catch his wife cheating. Instead, he uncovered his own affair, funded the evidence used against him, lost a lawsuit, and indirectly introduced me to the woman he should have appreciated in the first place.
