It was like someone threw a brick through the front window of rock n’ roll.  Imagine hearing this album for the first time. The Ramones debut record came out 50 year ago today. Side 1 - Track 1 : Blitzkrieg Bop

13 years ago, the Rana Plaza tragedy in Bangladesh killed more than 1,100 people - mostly women - and injured 2,500 others. Many of the cause of the disaster continues to affect garment workers today. The Rana plaza tragedy must not happen again. Companies and suppliers must be held accountable for human rights abuses. Workers must have the right to freedom of association. Workers’ rights are human rights.

@strombo The Ramones never made it into my music rotation (mea culpa), but I can definitely hear their influence on bands that I listened to the 90's like Bad Religion, Pennywise, and even Nirvana.

Ramones
Ramones@RamonesOfficial·
At their core, Ramones were deep fans of music. From the Rolling Stones to The Beatles, The Doors, The Who, The Stooges, the New York Dolls, The Ronettes, Television, Jimi Hendrix, to the MC5 and more. The guys wanted to make music and be around music as much as possible.

@strombo This is a perfect record. Nothing could be added or taken away to make it better. Desert island record, no skips, one of my all-time Top 10.

This powerful record came out 30 years ago. It debuted number 1 on Billboard. Rage Against The Machine’s Evil Empire - still incredibly relevant today.

25 years ago we lost this groundbreaking pioneer. Joey Ramone and Ramones helped launch a sound revolution. And changed music forever.
