A coworker died yesterday morning😭. HR knew by 9 :00 AM, but they kept us working all day. They finally told us around 4 :30 PM, then had the nerve to say, "You can head home early if you need to"—knowing we all finish at 5: 00 PM anyway. This morning, it’s back to "business as usual." Some of my friends are literally sobbing at their desks, but they’re expected to work and be productive. No time to grieve. It’s a cold reality. Within a week, the company will have his job posted online. Within a month, someone else will be sitting in his chair. But his family ,his children will still talk about him every day, they will ask where is daddy , His wife will mourn him for ages ,he was the love of her life . At work, we are just a "resource" that can be replaced in a week. At home, we are the world. Stop giving your best energy to a desk that will forget you, and giving the "leftovers" to the people who never will.

I’m reading Psalms 23 and realizing that David was really just asking God to regulate his nervous system and quiet his anxiety. That language obviously just didn’t exist yet. 🥹

Sheila of the Most High
Sheila of the Most High@sheilatebra·
So I was reading about King Solomon in the Bible, and honestly… this story messed with my head a little. In 1 Kings 3:12, God literally told Solomon that He would give him wisdom like no one before him and no one after him. Like… imagine being the wisest person to ever live. Ever. That made me wonder, Why did God make Solomon so special? Why give him wisdom greater than anyone else in history? Then I kept reading, and I found his downfall in 1 Kings 11. I was confused. Where did that wisdom go? How could the wisest man in the world end up worshiping idols? How could someone so wise make such foolish decisions? So I kept searching, reading, thinking…... and then I found this line that hit me hard: "If this was the case with the wisest man who ever lived, then what hope do we have apart from constant dependence on Jesus Christ? Let the example of Solomon drive us to greater dependence on Him." And that’s when it clicked. No matter how smart you are. No matter how blessed you are. No matter how high God lifts you. If you stop fearing God….. If you stop depending on Him..... You can fall. Badly. Even Solomon fell. And it honestly felt like God was talking straight to me: “Oh you want to be wise? Look at the wisest man in the world. See what happened when he stopped walking with Me.” God’s works are truly beyond our understanding. Praise the Lord!

Today Years Old

We spent years using this meme for small wins and it turned into the biggest win possible
Dr. Lemma@DoctorLemma

In 2007, a mother in Jacksonville, Florida, USA took a photo of her eleven month old son on a beach. He had his tiny fist clenched, his jaw set, and the expression of someone who had just won something important. He was actually about to eat a fistful of sand. She uploaded the photo to the internet and forgot about it. Two years later it had become one of the most recognisable images on the entire internet. A baby with a clenched fist and a look of pure determination. Two words underneath it. Success Kid. It was used by Barack Obama's presidential team. It appeared on billboards across the United Kingdom. It was licensed to Coca-Cola. Millions of people used it every single day to celebrate small victories. Nobody knew the boy's name. Nobody knew what was happening at home. Before Sammy Griner was born his father Justin was diagnosed with kidney disease. By the time Sammy was old enough to understand what was happening, his father was spending four hours a day three days a week on dialysis. Six years of it. Justin's mother had already passed from the same disease. The family needed a transplant and they needed money for the medication that would follow. His mother was initially reluctant to use her son's famous face to ask for help. She wanted the fundraiser to be about her husband, not a meme. Then she changed her mind. Within five days three hundred people had donated. Within a few more days the story spread across the internet and the total reached over one hundred thousand dollars. The call came. A kidney was available. The transplant was a success. When Sammy was told his father had a new kidney, he burst into tears. The photo that started as a joke about eating sand had saved his father's life.
