As someone who was once Anglican and now catholic, I understand what she’s trying to say but I also think she’s missing the plot. Every church has a way of doing things. If you listen to a lot of Pentecostal pastors and you attend a catholic mass, you will need a lot of time to adjust. There’s a certain kind of solemnity that you get in Catholic Church that you can’t find elsewhere. Wanting your priest to preach like AJS is an error. A Christian understands that it is the whole service that blesses you and not just a part of the service. People have different gifts. Some might preach better than others but the goal of a sermon is not who teaches better but the quality of what you are being taught and how it impacts your life. We are in the era where pastors can’t preach if someone isn’t playing the keyboard in the background. So you see all these and wonder why your own Priest is dull or doesn’t preach with so much vim. I’m of the personal belief that you can’t get all you need for your Christian journey from a particular man of God. This also means that you are very much within your right to change church if you feel your current one doesn’t minister to you anymore. We need to look beyond the noise and ask ourselves what really matters when it comes to seeking the Lord. Once you figure this out, it will be your guiding light.

First time creating a carousel design and it got me a role! A few days ago, I applied for a volunteer role and was given a task: turn a piece of content into a carousel for a fictional brand. It sounded straightforward, but it was my first time creating one. I wasn’t fully confident in my layout, typography, or overall flow. I kept wondering if it was good enough. Still, I went ahead and did it. I focused on keeping the design clean, structuring the content clearly, and making each slide understandable and easy to follow. I submitted it, waited and then I got the role. That experience reminded me that you don’t have to be perfect to start. You just need to learn and take action. If you’re a designer trying something new, this is a push to go for it. What's that new thing you tried doing this week?

the first time i saw it, i thought something had gone wrong for real, our plane had just landed and suddenly two fire trucks rolled up and started spraying huge arcs of water over it like a scene out of a movie 😂 people at the window seats were confused, some even a bit tensed until the captain’s voice came on, calm and he saud: ladies and gentlemen, this is a water salute... turns out nothing was wrong at all, it’s one of aviation’s quiet traditions, used to honor something special... sometimes it’s usually a pilot’s final flight before retirement or it’s a brand new aircraft entering service or even a historic route being opened. the water forms a ceremonial arch, like a welcome or a farewell

I almost gave up on cold DMs… but today I closed my FIRST client from it. This wasn’t luck. It was consistency, strategy, and prayer.
