Five students of Central University have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) for allegedly operating a cannabis distribution network on campus. The suspects, who are in Levels 100, 300, and 400, are accused of producing and selling cannabis-infused products, including ice cream, sobolo, toffees, pepper, eggs, as well as raw cannabis. A young woman who previously lived in the United Kingdom with her parents broke down in tears as she recounted how her life took a drastic turn after relocating to Ghana. According to her, she moved from the UK to Accra and eventually settled in Kumasi, where she became addicted to drugs and ended up living on the streets. The woman revealed that she is currently a Level 300 university student but did not provide details about the circumstances that led to her drug addiction and current situation. Overwhelmed with emotion while sharing her story, she admitted that she is struggling with substance abuse and expressed her willingness to accept help to rebuild her life and overcome the addiction.
