California Skilled Nursing Facilities provide 24-hour medical care to more than 445,000 of the state's most vulnerable patients each year, almost all of whom rely on Medi-Cal or Medicare. Despite their essential role, chronic underfunding by the state jeopardizes the availability of this critical care for hundreds of thousands of patients.
