@JacintaAllanMP The problem is diesel not petrol prices, so the demand still exists and the crops aren't getting planted. When the food shortages start you'll know that the government failed to do its job by giving away free transport instead of securing our food supply.

Free public transport has been extended until the end of May then we're making it half-price for the rest of the year. Immediate support to help Victorians dealing with high fuel prices.

We’re extending free public transport for another month and then we’re making fares half-price until the end of the year to help take pressure off the pump. I know this won’t solve every problem, but it’s another step I can take to help Victorians right now.

The Australian government appears to be running ads in Arabic encouraging non-citizens to use its 5% deposit first home buyers scheme.
