It's frustrating man. They finally put Jun back in a mainline canon game since T2 but it just had to be this one!!!!!

7th at TNS, not bad After labbing Season 3, wanted to send it off with a TNS for fun. I really don't wanna touch this game for a while. I'll play offline casuals with homies but it's an excuse to socialize and not really an exercise in getting better. GGs as always. Jun forever.

@PhiDXGames Simple example but Kaz CH df2 aligns the opponent now even if the df2 was hit at the side. So if the Kaz player misinputted sidestep electric, the player is still rewarded with a CH combo (and a PEWGF attempt if desired). It's sad lol

Tekken 8 Patch 3.0 is not "a small step in the right direction" but "many steps in vastly different directions" Some characters were nerfed in solid ways that make a lot of sense (Anna CH > elbow, Nina b222, Steve armor, Yoshi 1,1) Other characters got slaps on the wrist, or were ONLY buffed. Weaknesses were intentionally removed. This contradicts the statement of focusing on strengths, weakness, and identity. The only consistent thing was a focus on making things "easier." Unique tech and conversions were removed, offense was streamlined, and a lot of execution checks were completely removed. According to this patch, situational awareness is not something that should be heavily rewarded, and cool things keep getting removed or simplified. Generally the vibes seem down, and I'm personally pretty confused by the direction of the game.

Honestly, it may not be such a bad idea to give some in-game reward for looking at replays, setting up drills or something. Athletes on terrible sports teams with bad records still wanna be in their best shape because of contract incentives + extensions. So give an incentive.

Learning how to learn in a solo environment is tough. Self perceptions, etc. No matter how many YouTube videos or guides that are out there. Too much intrinsic motivation required. Looking at own replays = amazing, but how do we motivate people to do that in the first place?

In T7 I had a definitive Asuka preset that I'd choose which is the school uniform just cuz it reminds me of the DR era which is her peak But in T8 I dont really have a to go to one, just her hakama but I much prefer the T5 variation of it Hopefully T8 will include more presets

Games Played In 2025 🧵 Was an okay year. Some real bangers, some stinkers. At least I’m going through the backlog somewhat while keeping up with the modern titles that do interest me. Maybe you can take a thing or two from this. DNF = Did Not Finish

Control (2019) I feel bad for disliking it, but I do. Story, setting + acting are cool, but gameplay loop was excruciatingly boring. Gun + telekinesis complement each other TOO well. Main character = OP from the start. More friction in gameplay would’ve served narrative well.

Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy (2017) I've played both the OG and N. Sane Trilogy before, but this time, I just wanted to go for Crash 2’s platinum relics. Very fun! Learning when to sacrifice masks is key. Maybe I’ll get platinums for 1 or 3 next. Or maybe just play Crash 4.
