Daily learning gaps contribute to the larger achievement gap in our schools. As leaders, we must ask ourselves: what steps are we taking to eliminate this flood? Consistent action is required to bridge these gaps and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. #SchoolLeadership

Friends, this morning I woke up with a clear-eyed thought — embrace your challenges, for they help you separate critics from champions. In the journey towards success, facing challenges is not just inevitable - it is essential. Challenges serve as a litmus test, separating those who are merely critics from those who truly champion your cause. They reveal the true colors of those around you, helping you distinguish between fair-weather friends and steadfast supporters. Critics often emerge when you embark on something ambitious or unconventional. They are quick to point out potential pitfalls, express doubts, and offer unsolicited advice. While some criticism can be constructive, critics tend to fade away when faced with significant challenges. They are the ones who are quick to abandon ship at the first sign of rough waters, unwilling to weather the storm alongside you. On the other hand, champions are forged in the fires of adversity. They stand by your side when the going gets tough, offering support, encouragement, and sometimes tough love. Challenges bring out the best in champions, showcasing their unwavering loyalty and commitment to your success. They are the ones who roll up their sleeves and work alongside you to overcome obstacles, celebrating victories and learning from defeats together. Challenges act as a filter, sieving out those who are merely spectators from those who are active participants in your journey. They reveal who truly believes in your vision, and who is willing to invest time, effort, and even resources to see you succeed. As the saying goes, "In the end, you will know who truly supports you when you reach out for help in times of need." So, embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. They are not just roadblocks but stepping stones towards your goals. Let them reveal the critics and champions in your life, and surround yourself with those who lift you up, inspire you, and walk with you through thick and thin. As you navigate the twists and turns of your path, remember that challenges not only shape your journey but also shape the relationships that define it. #embraceit #leadershifts

I told Dr. Anthony Muhammad that I missed him during last summer’s @SolutionTree PLC at Work Conference, but he made up the difference in a highly engaging session this morning at the @TASSP1 Board Retreat! Summer of Learning is underway! @newfrontier21

Great three days of learning @TASSP1 Board of Directors leadership retreat. Listening to Dr. Anthony Muhammed on PLCs at Work. “We have a pretty casual relationship with student failures. They don’t stimulate dissatisfaction.”
