Story time! A few years ago our oldest son spent three weeks at Primary Children's Hospital with major intestinal issues between Thanksgiving and Christmas. He had to have emergency surgery and we were very close to losing him. He is okay now and that isn't really the point of the story other than to provide context. With all that was going on, I was not able to replace the previous year's ruined Christmas lights that a storm blew off the house. Things were too crazy for that. The following years continued to be busy and we resorted to having colored lights in our outside fixtures. We have wanted to do lights along our roofline since, but life gets in the way, you know how it is. Before Christmas last year I called my wife's sister in Texas. They install custom-fit Christmas lights on homes in the Austin area to help their kids earn money. I asked her to talk me through doing it the right way on my house. I got the details but our son ended up in the hospital again and I didn't get the lights up. Last night at 10 p.m. my wife and I were winding our evening down when we started hearing sounds like someone was on our roof. I thought it was wind causing tree branches to rub against the side of the house. We looked out the window and saw that there were Christmas lights on our house. We ran outside and found my sister-in-law’s family from Texas finishing the installation of custom-fit Christmas lights on our roof. They are in town because their daughter is getting married in Provo tomorrow and they decided to surprise us. I am so incredibly touched by their generosity!

@AndriaDont99498 Yes, you can "function" without meds, but functioning might not be the same as thriving, and if some families find that medication helps a person thrive instead of just functioning, I'm not going to condemn them for making that choice.

Unpopular opinion : ADHD isn't debilitating. You can function without meds. It does not compare to autism, bpd or even OCD. You're dramtic.

@Rach_the_Rivetr Didn't you tell it that it was unwelcome in your home and to never return? That's what I do whenever I get sick. (Not that it's ever worked for me, but you can try it.)

Planning on going to the Scottish Festival in Payson tomorrow so I figured I’d try on my kilt…. Ya right! Realized I’m too “pregnant” to wear it! Gotta start the exercise & diet & exercise plan again!

A family friend just overdosed and we don’t think she’s going to make it through the night. Prayers would be appreciated. Pray for her and my mom.

@latterdaylaura Have you tried singing all the verses of A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief to knock her out? I've found that works pretty well on babies. (Can't seem to make it work for myself though, sadly.)

My baby that used to fall asleep in 20 min has been taking upwards of an hour lately She’s only 15 months. I can’t drop her only nap yet 😩

@sister_slay I like having a family Minecraft server that I know is a safe place for my kids to hang out. I may or may not spend far too much time there myself.

@Simi_2210_ Somewhere between 13 and 21, because we can't see the back to know if there are matching holes to the ones on the front, or if the back is just one or more gaping holes.

@BlackBlessedLDS I guess the real question is who instigated the kiss. If the toddler kisses mom on the lips (possibly because he's seen that's what daddy does) then that's fine. I personally wouldn't lean over and kiss a child on the lips. I'd aim for the forehead, noes or cheek. But that's me.

If you think this is weird you either: 1. Don’t have kids 2. Aren’t around kids who have a loving relationship with their parents 3. You’re oddly jealous

@jmillinmac ugh, I don't even kiss my own kids on the lips. Cheek, forehead, nose, top of the head, fingers, maybe even toes, but not lips. Husband is the only one who gets kissed on the lips.

Wait wait wait Are y’all kissing other peoples kids on the lips or just yours?

My wife and I passed several of these trucks on the freeway yesterday. Any idea what they're used to transport?
