In 2023 alone, we fought over 500 proposed anti-LGBTQI+ bills alongside allies.
Over 450 of those bills specifically targeted trans people. In 2024, A4TE is now tracking over 400+ anti-trans bills in state legislatures.

1. Midway through 2024, we have had over 580 anti-LGBTQ+ bills this year. For the last few years, I have continually updated a risk assessment map that tells you the risk level of anti-trans laws in every state.

1. On Friday, Minnesota's governor signed a ban on the gay and trans panic defense into law.
This defense is used to reduce sentences for people who kill LGBTQ+ people after learning of their identity, in some cases being acquitted entirely.
