All Ilia fans ever told me was he’s a grappler who chooses to strike, so why did he choose to grapple when he had him hurt? Why did he choose to fail multiple submissions attempts? Why did he choose to gas out in the 2nd round? By their logic, he did indeed quit by choice

Comparing Ilia Topuria to Tony Ferguson because they both lost to Gaethje is peak MMA fan logic. Tony was 36 and always overrated. Ilia is a double champion and one of the best fighters ever. One common opponent doesn’t equate to careers playing out similarly.
