My notifications are being flooded by people absolutely incensed that I love my own countrymen and can recognise a virtue as a virtue. They assert I should have some undying loyalty to their own people because they nominally share a religion, as they wish death on my family.

I may be Catholic, but I've always been a staunch Unionist. Ulster Scots are our kin; my uncle was deployed there during the troubles. Whatever theological disagreements exist, the one thing I could never fault loyalists on, or even the Orange Order here, was their patriotism.

@Defiantly_Free Midwest is still in high regard for me, growing up I always wanted to go that way for fossil hunting. It seems to have much more of a German and Scandanavian influence which intrigues me. I think of the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Illinois when I say the Midwest.

@Defiantly_Free That’s just where I’ve met Americans from tbh. I haven’t met many! Southern is my favourite now. Frontier culture, close family ties, and honestly the music. Also a big region for people from Kent to migrate to. When I say South I think of Texas, the Carolinas, and Georgia.

For fun! To my British followers! If you're a Brit & you see this, tell me your honest opinions of when Americans visit the UK. How do Brits perceive Americans? Happy? Friendly? Optimistic? LOUD?! 😂🤣 I wanna know! And if you're British, how do you spot an American instantly?
Defiant American 🇺🇲@Defiantly_Free

Yes. Americans are naturally happy, friendly, kind and optimistic. It's our default as a people. Americans are usually pretty laid back & chill. But! We're just really furious and pissed off with illegals and foreigners right now! Our angry side is being massively provoked!

@Louise_m_perry called this and no one listened.
Connor Tomlinson@Con_Tomlinson

@libbyemmons Yes. The smugglers entice clients using footage of girls, filmed in secret, drunk and dressed immodestly by Muslim standards, in social media posts targeted at North Africans, Afghans, Indians, and Pakistanis. Britain is marketed as a rapist's paradise to the third world.

I can't believe how stupid this is. "Most crime in Northern Ireland is committed by men from Northern Ireland, so we need to bring in men from Sudan to commit beheadings until there's much more crime in Northern Ireland."
Emma DeSouza@EmmaCDeSouza

The majority of violent crimes committed in Northern Ireland are at the hands of white men born here. Femincide levels are the second highest in Europe. Northern Ireland does not have an immigration problem. It has a problem with violence.

@Defiantly_Free I guess in simple terms the Protestants are Ulster Scots and Catholics are Ulster Irish.

@Defiantly_Free Irish Catholics are ethnically Irish. If Protestant, they are Ulster Scots (what you guys would call Scots-Irish) and predominantly Presbyterian, Anglican, Methodist (in that order). Ulster Scots are predominantly Lowland Scots, then Northern English, any Irish is from mixing.

I think many Americans are confused a tiny bit. 🤣 Americans are just trying to support you all and mean no harm. I think I see what's happening in the American mind! I'm an American so I can give an authentic thought process here. I think it comes down to, the natives are the good guys (we support the good guys) and your corrupt gov and the evil migrants/foreigners who want to behead & murder your native people are the evil bad guys. We stand with the good guys. We must get credit for correctly identifying the good guys, even if as Americans the technical terms may get a tiny bit confusing to us. Now we definitely don't want to offend. We would hate if a Brit called a Texan a Californian. So we want to get it right. I do know Northern Ireland is part of the UK so they are British. So Northern Irish/ Ulster-Scot correct? But Scottish, English and Welsh usually say they are proudly British and also will identify as proudly Scottish, English or Welsh. Don't Northern Ireland people say they are proud to be British and Irish? Ulster -Scot? I think that's where it gets confusing to us. It seems like Scottish, English and Welsh all get to have a specific identity (but are also a collectively British) so the American mind assumes Northern Irish identify as Irish (or Scot-Irish?) as well as British. No? Let me know! 🤣 You said they are English, Scots and border River stock. But I have read so many Brits telling us things, I honestly don't know how to fully interpret this. 🤣 Other than, we side with the good guys!
The English Remnant@Englishremnant

A quick one for my American brothers and sisters who are a bit confused. The Irish aren't "rising" at all. The protesters are British patriots. They are descended from English, Scots and border reiver stock. They're a different ethnicity to those in the Republic . 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Oh no wait, she was acting in defence
Justin Murphy@jmrphy

Say goodbye to my mentions, but I have to tell you all: That little girl in Scotland is not carrying knives to defend against a migrant attacker. Everyone got duped. The 12-year-old girl is a gang member. The person recording her is just troubled by her huge knives. Think about it for one second. I'll convince with you data, but first just stop and think: Even if she is the subject of an attempted rape or whatever, are you not slightly puzzled by why she just happens to be carrying in AXE IN HER PANTS? You really think this is a common and necessary practice adopted by young girls in Scotland because there are so many marauding migrant rapists lol? To be clear, everyone including myself is speculating because there is hardly any confirmed information at all. But I'd bet money against the immediate outraged consensus, and here's why... Scotland has white, territorial youth gangs. They're called “young teams” and they're common in poor areas. Guns are super rare so the weapon of choice is knives, axes, machetes, etc. This is so hard for the American mind to comprehend. When Americans think of violent criminal gangs they think of black men on the south side of Chicago shooting each other with guns. In poor areas like Dundee, Scotland, the gang problem is *very young* white boys and girls who carry knives. In one study looking at ~4,300 youths in Edinburgh, 30% of young people between 12 and 17 had carried a knife at least once. The age at which carrying a weapon was most common? 14. Dundee has a particularly high prevalence of knife incidents, about 144 per 100k people/year (the very highest in the UK is the Midlands with 178 per 100k, so not far off). Men are always more involved with gangs and violence than women, but at age 13 in Edinburgh gang members were only about ~57% male, so more females than you'd think. Knife carriers at age 16 were 70% male. So a full 30% of early-teen knife carriers are girls. Scotland doesn't like to collect racial data for this kind of stuff, but Dundee is 90% white! So yea, in the absence of confirmed details the overwhelmingly rational inference is that this 12-year-old white girl in Scotland is literally just a random criminal gang member. That's what they look like in Dundee, Scotland. In the UK, it's not so much men fighting for rank amidst drug dealing etc., like in the US. These youth gangs in the UK are a weird kind of low-energy, early-teen dynamic fueled by boredom, alcohol, and malaise. It's more like angry friend-groups with nothing else to do. Membership in these gangs usually fades by the late teens. By age 17, only ~9% had carried a knife in the previous year. But also just ask yourself: Why would the rapist or sexually harassing migrant pull out his phone to record? It makes no sense. Also, at the end of the video, after the young girl walks away, why does she walk back toward the "attacker" with a menacing glare and gang-like gait? You have to be drinking some truly phenomenal kool-aid to think "she's just so fed up with being harassed by migrants every day on her walk to the park... She's finally snapping and she's tempted to end this abuse for good!" What a joke. Please think for one minute next time!

I’d be far more charitable of the Pope’s view if he stressed the sovereignty of the natives whom take in these migrants and their right to refuse to offer hospitality if they are exploited. I must say I’m disappointed in the Pope.
Haz@HazThomist

Something interesting to note about Leo XIV's interventions on migration is that he has repeatedly stressed the right of people to remain in their homelands and, if they are forced to seek refuge, the right to return. His view isn't at all open borders and unfettered migration.
