The actual non-tribalist answer is that botting affected EVERYONE. Hololive gets botted (Biboo even talked about it). Indies get botted (as widely pointed out).
We have a year of data for this heavy botting since March 2025. More than enough time to adjust your conclusions.

The botting really kicked into gear during Niji ENchanted, where even the livers noticed the sudden unexplained jump in CCV.
And to emphasize this is not at all the livers’ faults. They have no control over whoever is trying to bot them and have voiced displeasure over botting.

Let me be clear. This tragedy being turned into a way to smear vtubers with high voices is incredibly stupid. But I'm gonna say this anyway. But sometimes the lopsided anti-Holo angle in JP can be really overwhelmingly obvious.
In February, the biggest Holo controversy was Miko canceling a collab. The biggest Niji controversy was Hayato outed as a Nazi

Not untrue. Vtubers generally receive hate from antis in the same way vtubers get hate overseas— for being anime-adjacent and cringe.
But in Japan, Niji has a broader, more mainstream popular appeal while Holo has an otaku idol appeal, which makes them a bigger target

I normally don't respond to stuff like this. When I see negative posts from people who have no idea what its like to live a life with PI. There are so many people out there living with primary immune deficiency. So many people who cannot leave their homes or their beds. So many people who struggle to find a normal life struggle to do the most basic human things.
I got lucky enough to have a community that supported me. They helped me crawl out of a deep hole that I feared I could never get out of. Without them I would not be here today. I also got lucky to have found such a wonderful friend who isn't afraid to do cringe silly stuff that may seem weird to some but to me it means the world. Now I am finally able to do things I never thought I would ever get to do.
If i can just give one person with my disease or any other debilitating illness out there a bit of hope and a bit of happiness. I am happy. Please know you are not alone and somehow you too can find a way to take back your life and live your life your way. Donate plasma if you can and support the @immunedeficienC if you can.
