When a 2nd grade math problem on a standardized test is written at a 4th grade reading level, then you aren’t testing for math, you’re testing for above grade level reading. And doesn't reflect student knowledge of actual 2nd grade math curriculum.

@SuzetteH2Os Maybe they (House members) should slow down and take their time and actually read what’s in the 160+ pages of SB 727. Indeed, what’s the rush? There are still seven weeks of session left to get this right.

Slight clarification: the House Committee is planning to vote Tuesday. If it passes committee it then goes through Rules and then can be scheduled for a hearing of the full House as early as Thursday. They are pushing it through quickly.

The MO House plans to vote Tuesday on an education bill that would expand vouchers for private schools by $25M and expand charters to *specifically* Boone County. This would mean local taxes would be spread across two parallel systems to educate the same number of kids. Not good!

@maycie2019 wasn’t able to go with me to watch high school final four in Columbia last week, so what do we do…go watch the Jayhawks at the Big 12 Tournament. Had a great time spending an evening with her!

@DrDaleHerl @JonTurnerEdD Here is the math for what SB 784 does for Drexel R-IV. June payment was $122,957. Two percent of that is $2,459. This equates to a total of $79/teacher. Not quite the incentive they think it is.

Here is the math for what SB 784 does for the ISD. Our June payment was $5,827,425. Two percent of that is $115,538.50. This equates to a total of $113/teacher. I encourage other districts to show how much money this bill generates. It is not $1B over 10 yrs⁦@JonTurnerEdD⁩
