@boofyre @_iamblakeley Bribery, fraud, conspiracy against rights, deprivation of rights under color of law etc are all illegal now. Not to mention intl law Slotkin's just setting the stage for letting Trump skate, again, on the idea that we don't have anything to prosecute him or his cronies with.

@_iamblakeley She is talking about making laws prohibiting the bad things that used to just be traditions. What is wrong with that?

We need a playlist of every phrase that feckless, pathetic, useless Democrats love to use to deflect. Today’s installment: “we’re gonna have to take a hard look.”

Schumer agrees with the logic of this war, its nominal goals and agrees iran is ontologically evil but thinks Trump “planned” the attack poorly. This is the head of our opposition party: nodding along with this foaming rightwing rant but handwringing over “rising gas prices”
Jacob N. Kornbluh@jacobkornbluh

This exchange on Morning Joe re: Iran war ⬇️ Joe Scarborough: Is it a good thing that we're degrading Iran's military infrastructure? Yes or no. Schumer: “It's a premature question, what is going to happen in the next several months? … Is it worth it?”

What’s cool is that the US government has been trying to figure out how to do this for years and every single time they come to the conclusion that it’s impossible
David D. Chapman@DavidD_Chapman

5,000 Marines are more than enough to take Kharg Island. Right now, however, the objective is to secure The Strait of Hormuz. Part of securing the strait requires clearing Iranian Offensive capabilities along the coast of the strait. 5,000 Marines can do that.

@camtology @lefty_md Making it a public option is the fastest way to ensure we never get Medicare for All. It'll just be underfunded by Republicans and conserva-Dems to pit everyone against it, just like Obamacare failed. Put everyone on and, suddenly, it 's functioning becomes political imperative

@lefty_md I get asking for more (because we all deserving a functioning society) but if there’s no revolution happening soon you’ve gotta find ways to drain the power of these corporations until you can advocate for what you want effectively, this doesn’t mean not advocating for M4A though

WOW🚨: Jesse Jackson Jr. just DROPPED this at his father's memorial: "I listened to three United States presidents who did not know Jesse Jackson." He added: His father had a "tense relationship with the political order" because of the demands of justice—not race or party. Yet they politicized it anyway. Talking about Obama, Biden, and Clinton turning the service into a political rally. Dad deserved better. 🇺🇸

@DaveEdwards30 @adamjohnsonCHI @KyleKulinski The US military could've made underground bunkers out of the way of civilian targets with the trillions it receives. Instead, its quartering its troops in hotels and airports because they want Iran to strike civilian targets.

You’re clearly an idiot. Where would you like these people to go? Please, explain to all of us uneducated morons where you think US civilians would go? Do you think we have “underground tunnels” like Hamas? Do you think we have unknown above ground compounds that nobody knows about? Please tell us all mighty knowing of everything when it comes to war.

Imagine caring about this. Two countries with combined military budgets 200X more than theirs are killing 100s a day and blowing up girls schools and openly promising Gaza 2.0 and CNN and NYT are handwringing about Iranian “information war.” Begging people to get some perspective
Brian Stelter@brianstelter

NYT: Iran's official TV networks and aligned social media accounts are "waging an information war parallel to the real-world fighting, blending fact and fiction, often using unproven claims and fake videos generated using artificial intelligence." nytimes.com/2026/03/04/bus…

I had different problems with AOC’s Munich talks but the Taiwan criticism is kind of silly, because she’s being knocked for babbling incoherently about what the U.S. response should be, when babbling incoherently is quite specifically the actual policy of the U.S. Except we call it “strategic ambiguity.”
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

AOC: “If you think I don’t understand foreign policy because out of hours of discourse about international affairs I pause to think about one of the most sensitive geopolitical issues that currently exist on Earth, I’m afraid the issue’s not my understanding but rather the problem is perhaps you’ve gotten adjusted to a president that never thinks before he speaks and doesn’t care about the implications of his words before he speaks on matters like these”

This may be part of trying to make it harder to get a passport if a passport will be acceptable ID to vote, but it’s also a confirmation of my suspicion that foreign travel is going to be slowly more restricted and harder to do.
WHYY News@WHYYNews

The U.S. State Department has ordered certain public libraries nationwide to cease processing passport applications, disrupting a long-standing service that librarians say their communities have come to rely on and that has run smoothly for years. bit.ly/4qwOviL

Time was “Broad sanctions are a form of collective punishment against civilians” was a fringe far left conspiracy now it’s openly talked about by its supporters. So now we can drop this pretense I guess

They are not. This is a clever liberal evasion tactic also popular RE: Venezuela (2002) and Bolivia (2019): “This coup is unwise (possibly illegal) but something something we now need fair elections.” This way you distance yourself from an unseemly coup but implicitly endorse it
Jeff Schuhrke@JeffSchuhrke

Maybe I've missed it, but is even a single Democrat demanding that Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores be immediately released from custody and returned to Venezuela unharmed?

even in her revisionist recounting, Harris continues to lie about her Gaza position. Netanyahu’s position of only backing a temporary pause was (and still is) **Harris’ position**. If “Hamas can have no role” “post war” then this is opposing a ceasefire with different words
Briahna Joy Gray@briebriejoy

In 107 Days, Harris admits that by July 2024, she knew Netanyahu did not want to end the war and that "it was clear nothing would be accomplished" by meeting with him. And yet Democrats remained committed to their 'bear-hug Bibi" strategy, while blaming Hamas for the ongoing genocide.

@Traumanomics @IDoTheThinking No, liberals should be having conversations about how to expeditiously make Shapiro and his ilk politically marginal. At the very least, they should be arguing against blatant lies when sitting right across from it.

@IDoTheThinking So we shouldn't talk to Shapiro ever? How has that been working out for the Left? It is not about being right or wrong but acknowledging power represented by ones who don't agree with you, and never will. What they say doesn't have to make sense.

@posh_420 @Swohtz @micah_erfan A ruling on Native American citizenship that was premised entirely on the specific history of Natives in America and their citizenship--that was subsequently cabined in Ark to its narrow ruling and then overturned by Congress--applies to children born to illegal immigrants how?

@TSellemander @Swohtz @micah_erfan When you get through elk v Wilkins you realize Indians were simply excluded from birthright. Because.... THEY OWED ALLEGIANCE TO A FOREIGN SOVEREIGN. And hadn't been naturalized or disavowed their allegiance in a way that had been accepted by the government.
