football is the most important of the least important things

🔄 (GRIMALDO): Alejandro Grimaldo is the ‘main’ alternative to the position on the left, ahead of next season. This is one of the positions that Deco has marked to strengthen. He has a €20M release clause, but with only one year left on his deal, that figure is expected to be lower. His salary is also not very high, making him ‘affordable’ for Barça. I don't understand why Flick started Joan Garcia knowing he had an issue in the previous match even if it wasn't a full on injury.

Wayne Rooney was a better player than Neymar. By a country mile. There isn’t one aspect of football where Neymar outshines Rooney. Vision, output, effectiveness, mentality…it’s all Rooney. Some things in football are to be debated, others are straight up fact, this is the latter

The first half was horribly managed. We're playing far too quickly, and that's exactly what Newcastle want us to do. Newcastle thrive when matches are open and chaotic.

There's no rush for Yamal to make a permanent transition to #10, not yet anyways. Occasional matches as a #10 is the way forward for now. What I do want to see regularly for the next couple of years is Yamal being deployed the same way Messi was deployed from 14/15 to 16/17. Normally, this would be done with an overlapping RB who'll hold width, Messi had Dani Alves in 14/15 & 15/16. However, Kounde doesn't have the qualities to do that. So, instead, it has to be a mobile midfielder comfortable drifting outwide to support Yamal moving centrally. Against Club Brugge, we saw how well him and Fermin worked off each other and how Fermin never got in Yamal's way and was able to consistently drag players away. Alternatively, Dro or Toni could perform that role, too.

🚨 JUST IN: Joan Garcia, 2-3 weeks out. @fansjavimiguel #FCB ⛔️
