I didn’t call my husband crying.
I called him angry.
It was 11:47 PM. I was sitting on the kitchen floor, laptop open, staring at an email that said my contract wasn’t being renewed. Just like that. Two years of overtime, weekends, skipped holidays — gone in one paragraph.
When he answered, I didn’t even say hello.
“I lost my job.”
Silence. Not the awkward kind. The steady kind.
He said, “Okay. I’m coming home.”
He was on a night shift. I told him not to. I said I didn’t want him to risk it. I said I was fine.
He said, “You’re not.”
Twenty minutes later, I heard the door.
He didn’t try to fix it. Didn’t start giving solutions. Didn’t say, “You’ll find something better.” Didn’t minimize it.
He just sat on the floor with me.
He ordered food because he knew I hadn’t eaten. He closed my laptop because he knew I’d keep rereading the email. He made a list the next morning not of jobs for me but of bills he could cover alone “for as long as it takes.”
The next week, I found out he had quietly moved money from his personal savings into our joint account.
Not because I asked.
Because he anticipated.
Months later, when I apologized for being “a burden,” he looked genuinely confused.
“We’re married,” he said. “There is no yours and mine when things fall apart. There’s just us.”
That’s when I understood something about marriage.
It’s not about who plans the best anniversary or posts the sweetest captions.
It’s about who sits on the kitchen floor with you when your world collapses.
It’s about who absorbs your panic without adding their own.
It’s about who turns “your problem” into “our plan.”
Marriage isn’t loud.
It’s steady.
And when it’s real, you don’t have to beg someone to show up.
They already grabbed their keys.

This country eats tacos, drinks tequila, and dances to reggaeton, but god forbid we hear Spanish for 15 minutes at halftime?

Former racecar driver Danica Patrick slams Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 2026 halftime headliner: “No songs in English should not be allowed at one of America’s highest rated television events of the year… not just for sports.”

Carmelo Anthony has been at nearly every Syracuse home game to watch his son play 🍊🏀
Kiyan Anthony told me that Melo usually flies up the day of, and they get in a workout together pregame.
"It means a lot. He doesn't have to do that, he has a job with NBC...I feel like I play better every time he does that."

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents just assaulted a U.S. citizen for existing on a public sidewalk in Minneapolis.
In the video, a person is walking down the sidewalk when they notice ICE vehicles pulling out of a parking lot and begin filming.
As one vehicle exits, an agent in the passenger seat raises pepper spray, aims it at the civilian, and sprays them in the face.
No warning.
No command.
No justification.
The person wasn’t interfering. They weren’t blocking the vehicle. They weren’t threatening anyone. They were simply recording government agents in public, exercising a clearly established constitutional right.
This wasn’t a mistake.
This wasn’t a misunderstanding.
This was retaliation, intimidation, and an abuse of power… caught on camera.
So the question isn’t whether this was legal. It wasn’t.
The question is how many more Americans will be assaulted for exercising their rights before this stops?
And when will the government stop treating U.S. citizens like criminals… or “terrorists”… for the crime of existing in public and holding power accountable?

Pastor: I saw ICE agents circling a young woman who appeared to be Hispanic. I said to this ICE agent, 'Take me, stop harassing her.' The agent got in my face, pointed a gun at me, and said, 'Are you afraid now?' To which I said, 'I am not afraid.' The next thing I knew, they were putting handcuffs on me, and they put me in the back of an SUV. I asked them if I was under arrest. They said to me, 'Well, you're white, you won't be any fun anyway.'

I'm a former defense attorney and currently a civil liberties attorney with no political dog in this fight. I watched the video at least 10 times from different angles and at different speeds and waited to offer an opinion, which I still reserve the right to change if additional information changes the calculus.
It is very clear that the officers instigated the confrontation. The woman initially tried to wave them past her.
ICE officers have no authority to search a US citizen or arrest her (unless there's probable cause to believe she's harboring undocumented individuals, not a contention here). A woman surrounded by masked, armed men who have no law enforcement authority over her has every right to try to escape. Video shows her steering wheel is turned to the right, clearly an attempt to leave WITHOUT hitting anyone and steer clear of the officer standing towards the front of her car. That officer had time to step to the side, which is where he was when he shot her.
Even a real police officer would not have the right to shoot at her for trying to flee. This is well-established in the case law; deadly force may not be used simply to prevent someone from getting away. Given that the ICE officers had no law enforcement authority to begin with, AND the video footage shows she was trying to escape a perceived threat, not to kill anyone, the crime is all the more inexcusable.
I'm praying for the victim's family, especially her children. I'm also praying for all the conservatives who are so unprincipled and lost they're excusing this terrible crime, and gloating over a death that will leave three young children motherless, because of the victim's politics.
