Tapi this morning confirms deal for 54 Carpetright stores..as in Thursday’s Sun Business. 221 shops now likely to be shut as Tapi says Carpetright was unviable as materially loss making for many years.

@AArmstrong_says My husband is currently sat in a store by himself waiting for news. No help from any one in the company. Lucky the store next door has great staff that have sent someone to check on him. Absolutely disgusting. I have told him to lock the bloody door. He won’t though.

@difficultthird @SkyNews My husband is one of the members of staff that has been made redundant today. As of 4.15 he was told after 20 years of service with them hes out of work. We don't even know if he's getting paid end of month. Is all a bit of a shit show.

@SkyNews So that's alright then. 1800 workers lives ruined, potentially losing their homes etc but that's just collateral damage. £90 a week job seekers allowance for them. But the company, it's bosses and shareholders are secure and that's all that really matters.
