⚖️COURT UPDATE⚖️The bankruptcy judge has now ruled in Cardi B’s favor in the sanctions fight against Tasha K — finding Tasha in civil contempt, ordering her to stop, and awarding Cardi B attorneys’ fees and costs. In a May 13, 2026 order, Chief Judge Scott M. Grossman of the Southern District of Florida granted Cardi B’s motion in part, found that Tasha K violated the non-disparagement clause in her confirmed Chapter 11 plan on multiple occasions, and held her in civil contempt.
The court’s order is especially notable because it explicitly holds that Offset and Stefon Diggs are both protected under the bankruptcy plan’s non-disparagement clause as “Almánzar Parties.” The judge found that Tasha K violated the clause on no fewer than the occasions identified in Cardi’s motion and supplement, across multiple platforms including YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, and even The Morning Hustle radio program.
The judge also rejected one of Tasha K’s core defenses: that deleting posts after notice cured the problem. The order says the cure provision only applies to a very narrow category involving an unidentified Almánzar family member, and that none of the violations here fit that category. The court held that for these posts, the violation was complete upon publication and later removal did not cure or mitigate it.
As relief, the court ordered Tasha K and anyone acting in concert with her to immediately cease and desist from violating the clause, including direct, indirect, and coded references to Cardi B and her family, and to immediately remove all violating content from any social media platforms, websites, blogs, or other channels she controls.
On money, Cardi B won a significant fee ruling. The judge awarded her attorneys’ fees and costs in two categories: first, for the work of monitoring, documenting, and enforcing Tasha K’s compliance from the date of confirmation through the hearing; and second, for the work involved in researching and drafting the reply brief. The exact amount will be set later through a fee-affidavit process.
There was also a direct sanction against Tasha K’s counsel. Because of the citation problems in the opposition brief, the court imposed Bankruptcy Rule 9011 sanctions against Chad T. Van Horn and Van Horn Law Group, P.A. in an amount equal to 10% of the Reply Award that Cardi B receives. The court said the citation errors did not meet the objective standard required under Rule 9011, even though it accepted counsel’s apology.
The one thing Cardi B did not get right now was automatic future monetary penalties. The court denied without prejudice her request for prospective sanctions for violations that have not yet happened, but made clear she can come back and seek relief if future violations occur.
