Nte Daniel || Data Analyst → Engineer
𝟴𝟳𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. But only 0.11% of viewers became followers. That’s what I found when analyzing a year of a client’s social media data. They had posted 450 times and generated 13.2 million impressions. On the surface, everything looked great. But when I broke the data down, most of the performance came from just a few patterns. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 → TikTok engagement rate: 8.97% → Facebook engagement rate: 3.46% Yet they were posting equally on both. 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁 → Video posts averaged 9.35% engagement → Text posts averaged 2.85% But both were treated the same in the content calendar. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 → Afternoon posts averaged 7.47% engagement → Midday posts averaged 5.53% Posting times were mostly random. Same team. Same budget. Very different results depending on where, what, and when they posted. But the biggest signal was still that 0.11% follower conversion rate. People were engaging with the content. They just weren’t staying. So the recommendations were straightforward: → Focus more effort on TikTok → Make video the default format → Prioritize afternoon posting → Boost posts that are already performing Small changes. Much better return. This is the guided project for Cohort 8 of Data with Danny — built entirely in @msexcel . No BI tools. Just clean data and the right questions. #DataAnalytics #SocialMediaAnalytics #Excel #DataWithDanny #Datafam

One thing I wish I knew when i was just starting out in Data analytics? Applying for data entry roles, data cleaning roles, Basic Excel jobs, Admin jobs. Those are low entry points to break in tbh

@AfResearchBase From my POV, some people choose not to hire an analyst to cut cost, while trying to make sense of thier data. In other cases, some don't bother to work with thier data. Worth a dilemma!

Listening to data is essential, but so is the role of a competent analyst who can frame the right questions, account for bias, and translate patterns into meaningful insights. In many cases, impact happens when good data and good analysis work together, not when one replaces the other. The real challenge, perhaps, is ensuring that decisions are grounded in both reliable data and thoughtful interpretation, rather than intuition alone.

Accuracy builds Trust. Trust builds Impact. The real question is, Do you trust listening to your data or making decisions through a competent Analyst?

Do you get disgusted when you recognize AI-written contents, reports or research articles? That's because there's a gap in knowledge, articulation or skill that only a research writer or content specialist can fill.

Dear aspiring analysts, RESEARCH first before starting your analysis. You need to figure out: • Background of your project • Review blogs, articles • Find your aims and objective • Core problem your project solves You're building Real-world projects Not casual projects

Just yesterday, I was hiring influencers on LinkedIn. I reached out to someone, and asked for their rate. They said $60 for a post. I shared my budget; $50 per post, and the team was ready to pay for 10 posts upfront. And they said “Sorry, I don’t compromise on my worth.” Look, I get it. The internet loves that phrase a lot, but it’s not the complete truth. In many instances, “charge your worth” can be very terrible pricing advice. Why? Because your worth as a human is infinite, but your price in the market should be determined by context. Good pricing has very little to do with standing firm, and a whole lot more to do with understanding leverage. Sometimes, the wiser thing to do is compromise. For example: • If someone is buying in bulk • If the contract runs for months instead of a one-off task • If the work could turn into recurring projects In those cases, slightly adjusting your price can actually increase your total income over time. Compromise does NOT mean desperation. You can choose not to lower your price when: • The scope keeps expanding but the budget doesn’t • The client clearly can afford more but is just bargaining • The deal drains your time with no strategic upside Pricing is NOT about ego. It’s about volume, relationships, long-term value, and knowing when a smaller margin today leads to bigger wins tomorrow. Hope this helps.

If you're in a position to start any project, Always Ask "Why" for at least 5 times: •Who is this for? • What problem are they facing? • What decision does this analysis support? • What type of analysis it will provide? • Why should I analyse this? This ensures a solid project ✅

8GB RAM is a big scam. If you're into data analytics, you get what I mean. I can't wait this long just to get Power BI ready to go. I'm considering upgrading my PC or sticking with PBI Service on Fabric, gosh!!

@TheAnalystbro When I started learning DA I had 8GB ram on my laptop and I felt it (it didn't help that my laptop has a 4th Gen processor but it's a core i7 so I had that saving grace). Few months in I doubled the ram to 16GB and the performance increased substantially(not the best but better)
