@CRShipp I avoid it as much as I can. AI is designed to be biased towards your own biases. So I don't even see it as a good brainstorming tool.

@TheBasicExpert1 Honestly curious, do you see any beneficial uses for AI or are you avoiding it completely? I have utilized Grok so far to help me brainstorm in writing my own game. Not that I don't have concerns.

I never see people point out the "As you hew the line with respect to conformity to major systems and uniformity of play in general also be certain the game is mastered by you and not by your players." A lot of people justify their misunderstandings of AD&D by just citing "muh spirit of the game" but it's clear Gary thinks you should master the game as is. In other parts he warns of a mutable system and how the barrack-room lawyer describes here will always try to make the game easier for themselves and changing the game in certain ways like that will kill your campaign. I've just noticed most people proof text but don't read AD&D as a whole and in context with its other parts.

By definition, I don't think you can be a barracks-room lawyer if you read the rules, understand them, and apply them to the game. It seems like the rule zero zealots fit the description. Credit to @NotJonMollison for pointing out what this word actually means.

The BroSR: A bunch of rules lawyers telling you to ignore what Gygax said about barracks room lawyers and telling you how great it is to play with a table full of rules lawyers.

@DanielDnDYT Seriously though do the BroSR use alignment language? I feel that could be the next ‘big break thru’ they discover.

You have successfully convinced me out of mu solipsisme my friend, as your mind must exist in order to be this immature.

@NotJonMollison @Aba_KoTO This is a guy who simps for people in destiny's circle of retards. He doesn't have a chance at all of understanding anything beyond his own solipsistic retardation.

@Aba_KoTO You haven't the slightest idea how I see it's true nature. It has nothing to do with pictures and everything to do with the fundamental premise on which it is built.

You guys are actually more pathetic than the crazy satanic panic people from the 80s and 90s. They called DnD satanic because it's literally about demons, which is moronic, but you're calling it satanic because WoTC drew a picture of some gay people that one time.
Mr. Wargaming@NotJonMollison

D&D is satanic. There are ways to exorcise its demons and return it to its original purpose of bringing glory to God, but most of you aren't ready for that conversation.

@NotJonMollison Crowley did degenerate stuff. The modern rule zero guy is "Do what thou wilt" and degenerate stuff is pretty much celebrated in the hobby at this point. Lol.

@thehousegame Krita is good and obviously free. But I just like the way Clip Studio Paint feels when you are drawing. It's brushes and how they work is fantastic too.

And somebody who's been using Photoshop since like 1990 or 91, that is an interesting twist. I did however not long ago download clips studio and purchase Krita. They are very good reasonable alternatives that can open PS files. Adobe decided to jack their creative suite price to almost $70 and I told them the pound sand for their bug-filled dumpster fire of an application.

@CRShipp Id be down honestly. People's epistemic justification is whack these days for what they want to try and argue.

@TheBasicExpert1 Honestly I think you should master the art of logical debate and take on all of them publicly. Most people's epistemology is so broken that they can't utter a coherent justification for any of their opinions. You would expose them easily.

This is a common and very wrong view I see narrative addicted GMs make. As if me connecting different roll results and player actions to actually make sense is similar to chatgpt meaninglessness. It actually makes player choice matter because what they do becomes integrated into the game world and its history. That's the opposite of what these goobers mean with this argument and it shows they don't understand the opposing position. They would be incapable of restating my position without a moronic strawman. They act like their railroad obsessed method of running high prep games has not been the norm since the mid 80s or so and sandbox or club style gamers are ignorant of their position and arguments. We are very aware. There is nothing prep addicts and narrative addicted GMs can say that we player action driven referees like myself have not heard or even once believed. We've heard it. We don't care. We think your strawman arguments are bad. You are incapable of actually understanding a different view despite your "No wrong way to play" bumper sticker philosophy. So no, low prep player driven club games still have meaningful stories. In fact, they have more meaning to the players involved than your gaslighting the players into thinking they are playing a game when they are actually being tricked to follow a script.
Checkered Goldfinch@checkered_finch

@TheBasicExpert1 Railroading makes players' efforts almost meaningful, sandbox turns master into ChatGPT. I agree, it's a spectrum. Also, Mercer have already explained how they do it, and it's neither. They do have prepared campain, yet players roll and decide in process.
