@candiwrites Happy barbie day. And happy birthday.

@InnovationMatt I heard this recently from a contact who’d been hired on an agreement for compressed hours. This has suddenly been revoked because the business doesn’t want anyone working longer than 9-5.
Instead of initiating a 4 day week?!?!?

@InnovationMatt Working my second role “in” Scotland while I’m physically in Southampton, I couldn’t agree more.
In my last long contract I hired to many roles. Having UK instead of London opened up the talent pool and I had colleagues from Glossop, Leeds, Oxford, Fareham, all over!

@NicolaGunn_ FWIW, I identify as an adopted northerner. For which I thank my Mancunian maid of honour.

Among my favourite things about working “in Scotland” is that when colleagues refer to “down south”, they mean England.
Living in Southampton, I’m used to “down south” referring to the bit under Birmingham.
It’s the small things.

For @TanithMuller, I have an enhanced perspective these days!

Belonging is an antidote to #trauma yet the opposite of belonging gets located in language eg.
Hard to reach
Ex-offender
Homeless
Youth at risk
Youth violence
Case worker
Service user
Shifting the language away from problematising the individual is essential for system change

Often, we frame our change activities in a challenging way: "break the rules", "confront the status quo", "daring to fail & learn" etc. Why don't we flip this & just give ourselves permission to do things? I'm inspired by these "permission slips" from @kwiens. What do you give yourself permission to do, individually & as a team? Download the slips for free at northstarpaths.com

We're in the middle of a children's hunger crisis, caused by ⬇️
🚨 Conflict
🚨 The climate emergency
🚨 Cost of living
It's a complex problem – but it *is* preventable 🔗👉🏻 bit.ly/3IDnYNM

@Hedzie @InnovationMatt Funnily enough, we use it. For us it’s like “in crime” which definitely feels different to the law firm 😂
English

@InnovationMatt I really like partner. It doesn't make me think law firm at all. It makes me think respected equal.
