@CFBMoon That’s fair. He needs to work on comfort getting smacked around a little and catching through contact and in anticipation of contact. Hard to play the slot scared.

@BuckwyldeSports I’m even questioning the next level. It’s the adjustment to the physicality—but then I give grace cause Ryan Williams. Playing in the toughest conference week in and out. Learning curve is tougher. Brooks is a baller. Like the rich just get richer

@NerdBoiTakes He’s certainly more physically gifted. No slight to Simpson who has some good tools but Russell has special physical traits.

Good one to remember as we work. Just because you disagree with someone else’s work doesn’t mean they didn’t watch, they don’t know ball etc. I mean it might. But it’s not 100% and it’s not for every player. Film is just a part of the process.

“Film doesn’t lie” There is no better point in human history than now to point to how humans are incapable of seeing the same thing, on video or in person, and coming away with the same conclusions. People either don’t know what they’re looking at or can’t agree with what it means. Biases clouds the vision, including selection bias, confirmation bias, over-weighing the first pieces of information we see, over-weighing a single trait, and group think. As humans, we want to be different but we also want to be similar. This leads to us arbitrarily selecting which opinions we want to agree with and which ones we want to deviate from. “Film doesn’t lie” Okay, but who are you to distinguish what good route running is and what bad route running is. Or good blocking technique vs bad technique. Or what’s coachable vs what isn’t. Or whether a QB made the right read or wrong read “Film doesn’t lie” Okay, but are people actually watching the film? For every prospect? At every position? How can we trust the evaluation of someone who watches 20% of career snaps for 20% of the prospects at a given position. “Film doesn’t lie” Okay, but people do.

@FFjunkie_ That’s fair. His tape is funky because he did a good job maintaining focus through contact on catches, especially the Syracuse game I watched but when he’s open it varies. Still like the idea. How could I not though I’m a biased double husky who’s watched this dude a lot live 😂

To be clear he’s still very good. He greased out as elite on release, special teams, and YAC for me. His route running graded as good, same with ball tracking. His deficiencies are there though: hands, physicality, contested catch. It’s important to see the whole player.
