Before I finalized the more minimalist album cover for the 2024 Expanded Riven OST, I experimented with some redesigned carved Icon carvings, vaguely similar to the icon paintings in the "Gateroom". These designs felt too busy... and not the right tone for Riven. I abandoned them for Gehn's symbol. But I thought you might enjoy my process. In case you don't know, 'Riven (Original Game Soundtrack) [Remastered 2024]" is available everywhere you stream music (with 11 more tracks than the original). The soundtrack is also downloadable on Bandcamp where the purchase of the album includes our first design map of Riven (in high resolution--3000x2500px) including scrawled notes and initial concepts for puzzles, many of which found their way into the final game.
