@JohnDiesattheEn The Joker only works when he's used in service to other characters, e.g. as a chaotic evil counterbalance to Batman's lawful good, as a corrupting influence on Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight, as a shitty ex for Harley to overcome, etc.

No one asked, but the reason I disliked the serious Joker movie is that the one defining feature of that character that makes him compelling is that he fucking loves being the Joker. The Joker isn't tortured, he's not mentally ill - he just really really enjoys Jokering.

I took a VERY unintentional hiatus from the show. I took on a work contract that helped me continue to afford to live, but left me with almost no free time (which is when I make the podcast)

Trying to make a podcast while working multiple jobs and trying to get a small business off the ground was definitely biting off more than I could chew, but I'm seeing this through to the end even if it takes all of 2021.

The ending was the furst thing I wrote, and hasn't yet changed, but on the road there I have found new forks and diversions to explore. The final shape of this won't much resemble the initial idea that I had, and that's okay.

I've written more episodes but I gotta find the time to edit and record them. It's a challenge and I'm endlessly glad to all the people who have been interested in seeing where this story goes.
