The fact that we elected this man to the presidency twice should prompt deep introspection about what we’ve become. trib.al/Fb8yXDB

As it seems increasingly confirmed that Modibo Koné has also died from his wounds, JNIM managed to kill 2 of the 5 original junta members in Mali, and those were 2 of the most powerful and influential and powerful. Huge reverberations no matter what comes next.

Yes. My position is that reporters shouldn’t get dressed up in a tux to have some laughs with the terrible president. I also oppose trying to shoot the president (or anyone). These opinions coexist very easily if you don’t have a baby brain.
Megan Basham@megbasham

@Timodc I’m sorry, you and your organization have spent the last week saying that journalists should not even sit down with the president for a pleasant dinner that is an annual tradition. You are absolutely part of the problem.

When my former party today says the left “needs to tone down the rhetoric,” just pull this one out. It’s one of so very, very many.👇

If you were horrified last night watching our elected leaders run and scramble because of gun violence, just imagine how my daughter Jaime felt in school running from an active shooter before she was killed. Now, becomes a part of the solution and only vote for people determined to address gun violence in America.

i think it's important to note that the correspondents dinner wouldn't be at a White House ballroom even if it were built. The dinner is not a White House event. It's a WHCA event. Also, Trump had never attended before (would he host a dinner he didn't attend).

Unable to ever criticize Russia, Trump always lapses into this pathetic moral relativism. No, democracies helping each other fend off terrorists and invading dictatorships is not the same as terrorists and dictators helping each other invade and murder civilians in democracies.

HEINRICH: Do you think China is helping Iran right now? TRUMP: I think they may be helping, but I don't think much. They could help a lot more. I'm not overly disappointed. We help people too. We helped Ukraine. We shouldn't have done it to that extent.

Viktor Orbán heads to the US in June, where family members already live, while loyalists seek MAGA think-tank jobs and visas after the election defeat. Meanwhile, oligarchs & cronies are shifting wealth abroad, largely to the Middle East. @floragaramvolgy theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

One of the greatest cons ever played by MAGA/Trump was that they were going to get tough on China. Here is Trump defending the Chinese helping the Iranians fight the US military: he despises the troops serving under his command.

"I don’t think Americans fully appreciate the extraordinary cost of Trump’s bluster and blunders. It should go without saying, but once you threaten to invade an allied country, you don’t just place the existence of the alliance in jeopardy; you raise the possibility of allies turning into mortal enemies. You can also trigger the kind of insecurity and scramble for power that contributed to the start of World War I. In practical terms, it’s hard to see how alienating American allies puts America first." nytimes.com/2026/04/26/opi…

Mali’s defense minister and a key ally of Russia has been killed Defense Minister Sadio Camara was killed during the attacks on April 25. According to reports, a suicide bomber detonated near his home. Camara was considered one of Russia’s main partners in the country. Rebels are already seizing entire cities and engaging in battles with junta forces and Russian mercenaries. If the junta fails to hold on, the country could fall apart — the north, where Tuareg forces are strong, has long sought independence.

Thank you President @ZelenskyyUa for receiving me in Kyiv — a city that has shown the world what it means to refuse to be broken. To the people of Ukraine: we see you, we stand with you, and we are grateful. In defending itself, Ukraine has also been defending Moldova.

Forty years ago, the world faced one of the largest nuclear disasters – the fourth reactor of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded. A significant amount of radioactive material was released. Hundreds of thousands of people have been dealing with the consequences of that tragedy for years. To contain the radiation, a sarcophagus was built over the destroyed reactor. Later, more than 40 countries enclosed it with the New Safe Confinement to prevent further disasters. These two structures are what protect against radioactive releases and contamination. Their maintenance and protection are in everyone’s interest. But through its war, Russia is once again bringing the world to the brink of a man-made disaster – Russian-Iranian “shaheds” regularly fly over the plant, and one of them struck the confinement last year. The world must not allow this nuclear terrorism to continue, and the best way is to force Russia to stop its reckless attacks. We remember everyone who gave their lives while dealing with the aftermath of this tragedy. May all the victims of the Chornobyl disaster rest in peace. @United24media

STUBB: Finland has 1340 kilometers border with Russia. In Lapland, above Arctic, we are 100 kilometers from biggest nuclear arsenal in the world. Those nuclear weapons are not directed at Helsinki, Stockholm, or Oslo. They are directed at Washington, New York, or Los Angeles. So, it's in vested interest that countries like Finland, Sweden, and Norway can continue to monitor what is happening with these nuclear weapons and share intelligence with United States. I think what will happen is controlled burden-sharing within Alliance is we will probably see less troops from United States in Europe, less conventional material, which will be replaced by Europeans. But I believe NATO will stay strong because it's in military and political interest of United States to to have close allies.

#BREAKING: Velshi: “Today, Donald Trump’s son @EricTrump announced that a company for which he is the chief strategic advisor, just landed a $24 million Pentagon contract. Wonder how that happened. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren swiftly posted on social media…’Is the Pentagon just a cash machine for Trump’s kids now? This looks like corruption in plain sight.’”😳
